what is freelancer multiplayer?

Right now I only have the freelancer demo but I'm planning to get the game, I have a question though, what exacly is the freelancer multiplayer?Is it a deathmatch kill all ships or does it have more rpg incorporated?Is it a race to get more money or does it have many different modes?Please tell me what exacly you do in the freelancer multiplayer and details would be appreciated.

it's basically the single player game without storyline, and there are players playing aswell, if you've gotten all the stuff u can b bothered to get in sp, play mp with loads of real people.

u might be able to play different kinds of modes, in a mod or sumthin, but i aint seen it happen yet.

So basically the multiplayer is like the freelancer world, only you can get real people as partners who could turn on you, and real pirates who could threaten you to give up goods, Another question though, are there clans in freelancer, because it seems to me that theres much more of a need for teaming up in this game than in other multiplayer games.Also, does freelancer have a large enough multiplayer crowd so that its actually fun?
