Manually connecting to Internet/LAN servers

Is there a program that will enable you to manually enter the IP number or adress of the server you want to connect too?

i don't think there's something inside fl that will let you do that, but if you get ase (all seeing eye, www.udpsoft.com/eye/ ) hav a look around in that, and u shld find out how to add a server to a list, ur faves mayb, adn then just dubl click that, then when you open freelancer (from inside ASE), just go to internet games, and there it is. that's the closest ur gonna get.

There's a file inside of your freelancer\exe directory called fldirectip.hla

If you double click on it it will give you the option to directly enter an IP.

HOWEVER. It does not work for me so far. When freelancer launches, I go to multiplayer then internet, but it does not function. Ditto with multiplayer>LAN
Hopefully it will work for you!

just add the server ip and port to the cmd line for the icon same as you would for HL/Cs etc, NB you have to know the port. So right click on the icon and choose properties then edit the TARGETline as the eg below

eg C:\GAMES\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe -s208.34.203.75:2302

thats for the DA test server, so once FL loads look in lan and it will be there.
