Need humpback Driving lessons

If been flieying a klysdale for until lvl 30, now I bought a humbback whit heavy guns ect, and I go to Omega-11. Theire I run in to a group red hessians in daggers and styletos. (somehow a load of diamonds makes neutrals verry hostile again)

Normally I would just keep on flying, eveding theire shots, but to my horror I find out that this thing isnt capeable of doing that. So I hook on to a waypoint and start dropping mines, go to turrest view and start shooting. Although I've got the heaviest shield, and I kill 15 of the 20 hessians I'm still dieing.

Anyone can tell me what im doing wrong?

/edit

Whit my clysdale I was a piece of cacke, just keep wobling from left to right and you could get your engines on.

I dont know what your doing wrong?
Ive been using the humpback for quite a while and only lost a couple of cargo's
My first instinct is to bolt for the nearest trade lane but if thats not working, hit the afterburners (get the best afterburner you can) jump into turret view and kill those ****ers! just keep a careful eye on those sheilds : )

If you can bare to loose 25 cargo space, get a dromedary at mactan in magellan...much more maneuverable!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the problem was that, theire are no tradelanes in omega 11, im gonna get my clysdaleback thats for sure. Man that ship sucks if you cant run to the nearest tradelane.

you dont lose 25 cargo you get 25 cargo more and it is a lot easyer to move. Not as strong but its well worth having if you a trader.

Here's what I do to survive:

1. Get an Advanced Countermeasure Dropper, you will want this to deter cruise disruptors, and launch them as soon as you hear a missle warning. ( for a cool view, jump to a turrent behind view and you can see your countermeasures working)
2. Get improved thrusters, Advanced/Heavy (forgot which is better)
3. Get big guns for the humpback, at least class 5 turrets.
4. Don't stick around to fight if you are VERY outnumbered.
5. The humpback is the only ship (I think) that has 5 guns facing your enemies at every angle (thus the better turrets are nice). Don't try and manuever (you barely can anyway), make use of the turrets!
6. Buy the biggest shields she'll support. The combination of the massive shields and the ships armor makes you very hard to kill.
7. Use the engine-kill (z-key) when afterburning to ensure you don't lose your momentum

I think the thing you may be missing are the countermeasures, don't underestimate them.
