how to undo credit bug?

I am not a cheater and am pissed off becuase my multiplayer acount jumped to level 38 and 95 million credits when I was buying a shield battery... I dont want the game to be messed up so i want to get rid of this money very fast. is there a way?

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 6:36 am

yes ur a cheater

Just don't use the money...you're level is just a formality when it comes to multiplayer. If it's a bug there's nothing you can do to stop it from screwing up your game, IF it will even do that. I think you'll be fine.

If you're really worried, start buying up expensive cargo and jettisoning it. It'll only take you...oh...let's say, a month =P

heh I was buying stuff and dumping it in space but man that would take forever. I will just get to 93,000,000 and call it 0 and try not to go below I guess...
as for calling me a cheater you can lick my nuts dip ****

mllg

You are a dork.

He STATED he did not cheat. I know this, because it happened to me once. I do not cheat in MP...I wouldn't even know where to start.

But there is something he can do.

Have a friend you can trust create a new character...(Make sure you are at the starting point...IE Manhattan) transfer whatever amount you want rid of, then have that person delete that character.

I did that with my SP character when I imported him...(For FUN...NOT USING HIM) Wanted to see if his level would drop down to 1 if I left him with 2000 creds...It does.

Anyway...

Not everyone cheats, so DON'T accuse them blindly. It's not kosher.

Would you call someone a cheater that has worked the game for 72 hours, has 15m creds, and a titan?

ah that sounds like it will work great!

This is not a bug, it's a feature of one of the FL trainers out there and to call it anything else is not accurate.

There is a money bug that happens very rarely and it is a legit one. That is not what happened here at all. The original posters described in perfect detail what the trainer is designed to do, step by step. That is called cheating, pure and simple.

Now if the person didn't know it was going to do that, that another thing completely. It doesn't take that long to gain wealth in this game. Why not just start over without using the trainer? Check the porperites of the shortcut or Icon you're using and make sure the only executable in the path is "freelancer.exe"

Telling moderators to STFU isn't the best idea in the book.

I did not call anyone a cheater, read what I wrote. I think people protest too much.

if thats not calling me a cheater I dont know what is, I have never used a trainer for the game and never will.

as for not being to smart about telling off a mod why not? hes just a person and he called me a cheat. I'm a mod on a few forums and if I called some one a cheater and they where not I would expect a good flame. If he feels the need to ban me go right ahead I came here looking for help and got flamed boy a bunch of 12 year olds

I can vouche for the character of iBlue. I've known him for many years and if he says he didn't cheat, he didn't cheat. To call him a cheater is wrong. Period. If one insists that he is a cheater, then they are wrong. Period. A temper is warranted in this situation as I see it. Being called a cheater and then not having the ability to respond in kind is wrong. America is built on the principle of free speech, and if this is not enforced, then all other rights will fall. It is sad to see people jump to such conclusions... it reminds me of Vietnam, when most Americans were under such influence of NV and VC propoganda they did not know which way was up. Do you know which way is up?

Jumping to rank 38 with millions of credits is an affect of the trainers available for the game. It isn't unreasonable to jump to a conclusion that the person is cheating or using the trainer when they proclaim they were effected in the exact way the trainer was intended to effect a client.

Just as a side note, I have encountered players who asked in-game about a quirk that made their credits jump to the mega millions. With each case (2 so far) the player complaining about said 'quirk' had a brother who played the game and consequently after a thorough explanation by myself or another player, learned that their brother had used the trainer.

Regardless of this though, I personally can't help but wonder why it is of any concern to the author of this thread. If your rank jumped up to 38 and you have 90+ million credits due to some bug, great. Good for you. Why care about lowering your credits and rank?

Also, if you believe it's a bug then delete your character and start over. That character is bugged.

why play the game if you already have money?

Just curious if the Trainer were used, then the character deleted, would the trainer still be on the machine? I think it may benefit those out there who used this trainer thing to learn precisely how to remove it from their systems, seeing part of this server crash issue is being blamed on the trainer. FWIW, I haven't used the trainer, don't ever intend to, but think those who have used it should know the ramifications of using those things.

On another note I am really bummed at having to start a character for the xth time. Lol, this time I could actually smell the eagle, and now the server is being cleared out. It took me ages to get this far. Yeah I suck at the game, but was having a blast exploring.*sniffs*

In general, if you use the shortcut off the start menu and not the icon shortcut on the desktop to connect, that should bypass most "customized" Freelancer executables.
