Player complaint: SSTrunks

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. But two friends and I were playing on Elite last night. Doing some trade routes from New London to Manhattan. And a guy named SSTrunks killed all three of us in Liberty Space. We were all about level 10 and this guy was 30+. We lost about 100k cause of this guy. It's my understanding that PvP isn't allowed in Liberty, so if some one could do something about this **** we'd appreciate it. My game name is Durtee and I was playing with Wretched and Zeno. Thanks for your help.

I was also one of three players doing trade routes when we were brutally and visciously attacked by SSTrunks. Now this is only my second multiplayer experience and I would have to say that it has me having second thought about playing this if more powerful players go around praying on the weak in Neutral space. I just have to say that it ruined all our playing experience for the night and left us pissed off. I would just like to see if such activity is tolerated here, or should I find another server to play on cause I've run into a couple of kewl players here like Giest.

Woah, you're lucky you actually got ON Elite, let alone PK'ed on it. Elite is a very, very hard server to find a spot open on, let alone 2 or 3.

PK's happen, but sadly, SSTrunks probably has an equally difficult time finding an open spot on Elite that the rest of us do. Chances are, you'll never see the guy again.

Regardless, you and your friends reached the problem with the FL endgame. There isn't much else for him to do. He probably has already run the big trade routes, already has a few million credits, and had nothing to lose by taking you guys out who happened to wander past him.

Sadly, the MP game is gonna see more of it's share of these types of people unless some mid to endgame balance is restored through mods. It's just too easy to gain too much cash and too fantastic equipment in too fast of a matter. No wonder they get bored, it'd probably be interesting for these uber characters to fight off a swarm of 50 police cruisers in Liberty space.

Yeah, I've seen SSTrunks online several times, although I tended to stay away from him (I was low lvl and he was high lvl). I even think I was online when your triple slayings happened, and if I remember correctly you guys were in the Cortez system. Now, I'm not sure if this is the case or not, but on the in-game map I don't think that the Cortez system is in the Liberty Sector. Sure, it borders it...but I'm not sure if it is actually in the sector. However, I could be completely wrong about this. But hey, if you think that you guys are going to run into a higher lvl player and are worried that he/she may attack you, just try to hire a higher lvl player to escort you guys. I'm pretty sure that many ppl wouldn't mind lending a helping hand to ppl who are starting out (I myself don't mind running escort for ppl new to the game or just starting a new character). Some ppl might ask for an escort charge, but some would just as well do it just for the sake of helping somebody out (like me).

And Decker: it's not that hard to get onto the Elite server. Yesterday at any given time it took me anywhere between 1-20 minutes to get on...you just need to be persistent.

ROFLMAO! durtee you just payed your dues man...level up get yourself a powerfull rig and exact revenge, weeping here is not going to help you we have all payed our dues at one time or another=/

the thing I hate is DA need's to keep a char db so we can take our uber's to other servers...

Post Tue Mar 18, 2003 5:01 pm

I went past him twice and he didnt do anything. He came after me and I just sat there...fighting back is what they want. So I go out of my way to make the experience as boring as possible. And I wasnt hauling cargo, so I had zero to lose anyway.

Seems to have worked. I didnt see him again. The best way to deal with bored high level players is to make the experience of killing you even more boring.

If he killed you in Liberty space you should report him. The only thing more boring than playing at high level is not playing at all because your account was banned...

omfg, thats the one thing I DONT want to happen...we dont need another Everquest. Forcing them to re-level their characters when they switch servers will keep the playing field level.

As it is the game is already too easy...they need to add item decay or somthing. Maybe then high level players would have more to do than mess with lower level people.

your intitled to your opinion, but banning someone for a kill in liberty would mean half the universe gone, that would be boring=/

and what's wrong with being able to bring your char to another server? toughen up for cryin out loud.. -end rant

As this thread seems to revolve around the "Elite" server, and after reading the posts, I'm now thinking of joining it if I can - when I get my copy, that is - but I would like to know a few things about it. (Like player limit, and so on...)

BTW, if details have already been posted, please tell.

@deucy,

We don't ban people right away if they are Pk'ing in Liberty. There are always three sides to every story. Usually, we talk with offender and explain we do not encourage PK'ing in Liberty because it is difficult enough starting out without having to worry about being stalked by some level 38 character. If they take an attitude or completely deny it even happened, well we're not left with much choices then...ban. This information is posted promenently on the server news so it's not like this should be any surprise.

You really want to know what is boring deucy? Taking 30 minutes out of your life pinging to log into the Elite server only to find out you can't do anything anyway because some idiot level 38 is camped out above the Manhattan docking ring killing everyone. Boring, and frustrating. That's why we don't encourage that behavior.

Durtee, as I remember, you were CLEARLY in the Manchester system on your way to the Cortez jumpgate. Now, whether or not Manchester is in actually part of the Liberty system, I apologize if it is. But I do NOT PK within, the known Liberty border, take Wretched for example, I chased him all the way into New York, where I even spotted him only miles away where I could easily PK him, but DID NOT, because I'm aware of the rules that are CLEARLY preseted under the descriptions. I did go past SadisticSavior, and did I PK him? No I did not. Because I AM aware of the rules. And as shableep stated, I was dueling him and 2 other guy at Fort Bush near Manhantten. I then got banned, but I responed to the Admin, and was informed that even dueling is not allowed in Liberty. That being the reason I got banned, because I was un-aware dueling (even when all duel players are past 25+ and give you the O.K. to shoot) is restricted. But I have learned and next time I'm challenged, I'll tell that person to duel outside the system. Now Durtee, I don't know whether you know this or not, but believe it or not, I actually HELP newbie players to lv up. I helped 3 guys out last night, one of them was named Simon_Knight I believe. Now thanks to you, I'll probably be the most hated person within the server. But it's okay, I don't hold grudges against anyone for whatever reason. But know this, not as a threat I must clearly state, but if I see anyone, (not just you, as I stated, CLEARLY, but *ANYBODY*) OUTSIDE of Liberty system, be it a Rank 38 with nothin but nomads or a Rank 1 with a full cargo friether, unless the rules have been changed to absolutely NO PK'ing newbies, then I WILL, and I repeat, WILL open fire. In which case if there IS a rule that states, no PK'ing newbies, then I won't. So until I get a straight answer, even if I see a newbie OUTSIDE the Liberty system, I WILL NOT open fire until I know for SURE that I can. So I must ask, can I, or can I NOT shoot down a low ranked player outside Liberty system.

By the way, anyone wanna gimmie a list of what is and isn't part of Liberty system. I don't want to be banned again for shooting down people who think PK'ing is wrong.

Thanks,
SSTrunks

Sounds to me like SSTrunks didn't really do anything wrong.... sure, maybe your situation is bordering on "but I was at a really low level", but to be honest that really isn't the issue.

More like you were trying to get as many credits in as short a time as possible and got killed....

It happened to me when someone just randomly blew me up and I lost A LOT more than I imagine you had....

But I got more credits, bought back the stuff and blew the guy out the water....

That is the nature of the game, you can get more credits and get revenge, put it down to "bad luck" and deal with it, or just go play solitaire....

edit: Liberty Systems = California, Colorado, New York and Texas. If they were in or around Cortez then tough luck....
