Damage Points on Ships and escpecially Bases!?
This is all about the calculation of damage applied to an object caused by an explosion.
On ships, there seem to be certain Hardpoints that I think are controlling whether a certain component of the ship and the ship itself was hit.
The point is: The sur model is not taken for applying damages!
Now I wonder how that works, on the Eagle for example I see multiple DpDmg Hardpoints, but they must have been referenced somewhere since FL cant know that DpDmg_starwing is responsible for the starwing damage (since this hardpoint is located on the root and no on the starwing component!)
I got no knowledge in this area so any help is appreciated.
Furthermore, the real interesting stuff: How the ***** does FL calculate explosion damage on bases?
There are no special Hardpoints on bases that seem to do anything related to damage.. but the sur model is also NOT taken for applying damage (if you made bases destructible once, you will have experienced that missiles often do not cause any damage on certain spots)
