question about modded ship "wireframes"

in all mods with "new ships" the "wireframes" (or whatever you actullay call them...im talking about the things you see then you click the target button...on new ships you anly see weapons...but no ship) are not there....is it possible to make them.....or is it just really annoying.

Anton started a wireframe-making tool, but never completed it, sorry to say. I think this will always remain an experimentalist pipe-dream with this game engine.

just saying the real reason i care is because i thought i was fun to target fins and stuff of original freelancer ships and blow them off...if this possible with new ships?

It is possible to make multipart ships, but it's a royal pain in the arse, and hardly anybody has ever bothered, even though it's technically possible.

wireframes are pretty easy to create but read the instructions to the end because the first instruction is not the "non-plus-ultra"

You've been away to long Argh, check Cold_Void's work, he's been ripping every model he can get apart to make them multi part. He uses the splicer to give them SURs that have destructable components and even adds wireframes to them. I've been doing something similar but with the SUR exporter rather than the Splicer (doesn't work for me the SURs CTD me).
