I think not, it's his persistence on the matter i find disturbing, plus if he bothered to read some tutorials then the answer is already there, just have to use the old grey matter.

never mind I had it and just didn't know it, lol
who would have thunk you'd be cloaked and not look like it on your own computer
now if only there was a way to fix that but, I doubt that'd show up anytime soon
so pitifully easy I'm in shock I that I didn't see it before
just played one character one my PC and one on my notebook and noticed the regular guy saw the other one cloak and decloak

sorry, toy I haven't seen any sites where people could talk about that without being admins at the very least

don't see how anyone can mod that onto a character on my server cause, the data is saved server side
if there is a way and someone abuses it I may just get rid of it on my server

As a veteran server operator and author of FLAntiCheat I, and many admins with me, are still spooked by seeing discussions like this one pop up. Not for the reasons mentioned by this forums moderators though, as the problems we faced 4 years ago are just that... ancient history. Reasons I will not disclose do still justify there being at least some regulation as to what can, and what can't be discussed publically on this forum concerning cloaks. What I've read here however has allready crossed that line from my point of view, while other points could be discussed more openly imo. Perhaps its time for an update to the forum rules?

The bit that still gets me is why so many people get turned on at the thought of using the cloak, it's a partial code that even DA couldn't get right before M$ pulled the plug.

As Preacher has already pointed out, if you disable the cloak in your files you render it completely useless. Which means that I could then play on merlin's server and be able to see him even if he is cloaked. The same goes for servers, if your running a mod make sure that everyone is using a version that's had the cloak disabled, then if anybody does get on with a cloak everybody can see them and BLAST 'em. (did that to a couple of idiots back in the old days )

is there any way to tell that they have a cloak mod on if you set t to be disabled?
as far as I can tell it would make them look like any other character in-game
I noticed that other players can't see my cloak when it's in the cloak hardpoint
so if a player put it there and I had the anti-cloak stuff on it'd seem like he wasn't cheating if I scanned him
wouldn't want to think the wrong person was cheating with the cloak and accidentaly blast him

best not attack server admins, lest you feel their wrath, at least not on their own server

you ain't going to catch me cheating on another server cause, I don't play that way

if you attacked me on another server wihout reason I'd have to get help from the admins (for player harassment)

as far as my cloaking on my own server that's really none of your business now is it, doesn't affect your gameplay on other servers in the least

not all of us like to abuse the power like you seem to believe

as long as you don't act rude towards people or use cheats you should be fine on my server

you may wish to stop cause, too many people are bashing and flaming in here
I used to think this community was nice but, I see there are some that prefer to make vicious attacks on others for fun

as I've stated before you need not worry about me I don't intend to cheat on anyone's server, just looking for ways to enhance gameplay on my own server is all

sometimes it sucks having a conscience, at least it keeps me out of trouble
if only more people had one, lol

i joined FL as te cloaking era stopped, personally i dont see the point of it unless its all gunna be very similar, if not identical to what SWAT has been working on, hats of to that man!

What a classic statement Merlin, so what exactly do you think Freelancer is about then? So now your saying if i was a pirate and attacked you then that's in fact player harrassment. So why not ban all the npc's then?

any server that allows that requires a tag to identify it to be fair to players that aren't into RP stuff and just wanna have fun playing the game with people around

you should have known by reading my post that I meant an unprovoked attack that was done only with the intent of pissing me off and making an a** out of yourself in order to make an enemy. The post I was replying to was so rude and agressive that they implied doing it that way.

I don't play freelancer looking to make enemies, which is what the people I was replying to make it sound like they do themselves

Now if that's all they wanted they could make their own mass killer server where people are expected to die just for playing.

As stated before anything I'm looking for help with here is just for my own use on my server not to try and cheat on other people's servers. I don't play that way. You can if you want but, I don't care for the consequences (being banned and making enemies).
Not sure I'd be able to live with myself knowing I ruined the play experience of others and made them possibly hate the game. Unlike those I was replying to, I do have a conscience.
