I am trying to make a realistic universe, if something doesnt seem right it gets boring after a while. And there is ofcourse no up and down in space, and there is no point of area which 'stands still', thats just human words with relative meanings. So could someone pls tell me how to stop the ships spinning around if they are 'up side down'.
Okay, I usually just talk rubbish in the OT so thwack me if I am wrong in what you are asking.
The FL ships move on a Vertical and Lateral axis, they do not roll in a clock wise manner however they do correct themselves automatically after a manouver when you hit the space bar (default) and come out of free flight. If you are trying simply to stop them from this act of rolling automatically just go into the game menu, options and click auto correct to "off".

it's not an option, its a key - fyi the extended keyset/roll baby roll/etc mods have a second key added for toggling another auto-level, which is afaik for either 3rd person view or 1st - i forget which, but anyways both must be off to roll(and annoyingly, you can't be turning while rolling grr - no wonder they left it out of the final keyset - hmm maybe one of our code hounds could work on this one)
Oh! Hi Trip, assuming I am right in noticing the "JH" and your customary sign off, ain't seen you on TLR before. [TBHDruid.
Depends on whether he just wants to stop auto-levelling:
A propperly correct physics
EDITs: Typo, nothing to see here, go about your business.

or if he wants total realism and the ship keeps rolling and he constantly has to correct it manually. I thought disabling the "Rollover Help" would keep the ship steady but leave it upside down (at least as far as your 1st prsn HUD view is concerned).

A propperly correct physics
would mean that the ships thrusters don't make sense, pitch as well as roll would have to be manual, weps and engine sound would go out the window and an octopus with a phD in applied-mathematics would be required to play the game.
there is of course no up and down in space

thx for explaining me Druid, i have some difficulties sometimes. Ofcourse, the auto correcting could be realistic as imagination could have it being a computer calculating from the systems sun, or point of most gravety and then again tell by communication what would be the common way of having the ship. But I prefer it to be manually switched on or off independent of me being in free-flight.
Cool if ship rotation could be done manually like when enemy ship is flying and shooting against you while spinning.
Keeping it spinning would be cool too, but then auto-correcting should be turned off as well.
