A great trade for newbies in Bretonia

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

A great trade for newbies in Bretonia

If you are like me, lvl 8-9 and with only mission 3 completed which brought you to Bretonia, you will appreciate how hard it is to start here and figure out how to make some quick cash.
I bought a freighter figuring i will spend quite a while achieving next cut off point for mission 4 and i will probably have lots of time to explore and trade to achieve that mark of 56000 worth.
After many poor earnings and long unprofitable trips i discovered that you can pick up Niobium at 320/unit and get twice as much for it on Stokes station. It is a short trip, low risk and perhaps only some Gaians to bother you in Tau 31 system.
Beside that, i found some planetform depots among the ice debris in Tau 31 but i haven't had the time to blow it up and see what i can pick up.

Hope some of you that struggle with money and are at a low level, can put this info to good use.

BTW i had 14 thou worth of Niobium in my Clydesdale cargohold, and sold it for a cool 28 thou on Stokes (just so you know the details of how much i actually earned )...I'm so proud of my self he he he

Thanks a lot man! It helped a ton when I was trying to earn some money to buy a Dromedary.

Hey no prob.
I was actually surprised at the ease of this trade route.
A problem might be the small cargohold.
I would definitely suggest to all when you finish mission 3 and get to Bretonia and when they tell you to get a new ship, get the clydesdale because its pretty tough and still can hold a powerful arsenal of weapons aaaaand has 125 units of cargo space.
Also watch out for Mollies. They didn't appear on sensors in two trades, but after a third one they blasted me into a million pieces just in front of Stokes mining station. Mollies have pretty powerful ships...the Hawk i believe...its got about 3600 hull rating compared to the 2200 that the clydesdale has so its not tough for them to blast you into a million pieces.

anyways, I'm glad i could help.

buona fortuna!

Maybe I don't understand. Your initial post indicated you are in Bretonia. If that is the case, might I suggest the following, relatively easy and lucrative trade route...

Cambridge Planet (Diamonds) -------> Leeds Planet
Leeds Planet (Optronics) ---------> Cambridge Planet

I made close to 200k doing this run a few times with my Clydesdale during SP and then continued with the missions. Made buying new ships and equipment too easy, but it was fun. I love outrunning those baddies....

molly's use wolfhounds and bloodhounds. With my defender (!) I have no problem to take out 4 of the wofhounds (the better ones). So a clydesdale or even a dromedary with a strong shield shouldn't have all too much problems to flee.
