Mission for level 5 - Stuck - HELP!

Hail,

I'm playing without sound ATM so I don't know what to do... I come up to 3 ships (like snail shells) on the way to Cal. minor. They stop me... a sequence goes through but with no sound I don't know whats going on... can someone fill me in?

try checking your nav map, usually there will have some objective posted

if not, just go to waypoints...destroy all hostile...run?

that should work

ps, ure missing a lot w/o sound

no waypoints on map, still awaiting mission objective, no hostiles only the 3 ships shaped like snails, personal log says nothing, and none of the trade lanes open when I try to dock and neither do the planet gates. When I shoot the snail ships... mission failed. Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem. I've been to all the waypoints and even discovered a drifting shipload of drugs, but no gate or system jump works. If at least I knew what those guys said to us.

Maybe the real question is why don't you guys have sound?

Fix the sound, fix the problem

the problem is the software codec..... read the readme.txt/.doc section X .... or

that should fix it.... my system is screwed ...... gonna take the extreme measure of a re-installation...... win2k.... not the game.....
