Having the same problem myself. Wanted to get there to buy the Dromedary transport now that I just reached level 10 (but still in Britonia in the SP story). The advice I got was to go back into Liverty and beat up on the police and navy to get a better rep with the Hackers. It just seems kind of stupid they attack though. There's no logical reason for them to do so.

They're allied with Liberty Rogues. Once they see that you're enemies with the Rogues, then the Hackers will turn against you as well.

I'm starting to believe the same.
They hate us because we are enemies to their friends.
But they were good to us in that mission just because it was part of the storyline.
Maybe also to hint that if you are enemy of liberty police, you are their friend.
but what was not mentioned is that you should also be friends with rogues and such ...but that was impossible if you wanted to progress in the story line.

During the SP missions just about everyone is at least neutral to you.

During 'free' play neutral pirates may attack you, depending on how big a wad of money you're waving in front of their noses (meaning: value of hauled cargo. Empty cargobay = no hostility).

In MP I managed to get into an Outcast base when I had done a few bounty hunter-killing jobs for the Corsairs (nobody likes bountyhunters, though all pirates like them dead) and the Outcasts faction bar was a bit under 5 blocks on the negative side.

Of course they'll refuse to sell almost anything, but it's easy to get a bribe in for the faction who's base you're in. If no bribee around, exit base and re-enter to shuffle the bar attendees.

It's the Outcasts. They are top allies of the Hackers and the Hackers will kill anyone the Outcasts feel threatened by...... see storyline!!

I posted below something exactly about this and how to get out of it. Its a few posts blow. I had the same problem and solved it. THe problem is Outcasts. You have to get good with outcasts first. For that, you need to go to Trafalgar base and bribe for Outcasts. I would not recommend going to Liberty to kill police unless you want all the corporations hating you. Just dont kill too many police, i suppose. Check the post below "Newbie help for SP..etc"

They get set to not hate you just for that one part of the mission.

thanks Xaanix, i'll go to Trafalgar and see about that bribe...i think its definitely worth it for the money you can earn on that trade route of H-Fuel to Mactan.
it is only a problem if it is pricey to bribe...we'll see
