you can't kill the mines, you just have to fly through and between the mines

Fly around the mine field until you are directly infront of the jump gate openning and you will notice an openning in the mines. you can use this to get right to the center of the cluster. There isn't much there though... just as posted above a jumpgate to alaska and 2 weapons platforms (if you have the demo it's pointless). The music inside is kind of eerie though...

I flew around the minefield several times, but overlooked the entrance, until I read DJW's "how to" I referred to. It's just too much mines around there, didn't think it would be that easy - DJW wrote a novel about it , but simply, it's leaving the trade lane from Norfolk to the Texas jumpgate at the third trade lane ring (2nd after entrance ring @ Norfolk) and then fly directly to the Alaska (or at this state "Unknown" ) jumpgate.

Hmmm.... Going back thro the text I wrote - yep you're right - it * IS * a novel (lol). Well, gotta be thorough, cos people just couldnt find that Damned entrance!
