Having trouble finding rouge bases

Anyone have any tips on finding rouge bases. Right now I just wait until someone at one of the bases I do know about gives me some information, other then that, I'm sure there are quite a few I don't know about. Anyone have any tips on finding these elusive bases?

Once you've moved around all the trade lanes of a sector, go to your map and click on patrol routes. Make sure the hostile (usually) patrol route is selected. If you see a point where a number of patrols originate from, its a jumphole or a base. Neary every sector has bases or "bad guy" controlled jumpholes.

Do this in every sector and you'll find a lot of stuff. You won't be able to land at the bases though, unless you have good faction.

there are three rogue bases:

buffalo in the badlands of newyork
alcatraz in california
montezuma in cortez

plus Dawson in Hudson and Padua in Galileo.
