Which one are you talking about? There are plenty of downloads dubbed 'trailer' or 'video'.

You got me interested.

It's not unusual for a game to completely change during the development process, especially when its as lenghty and eventful as Freelancer's.

I'm talking about the E3 2k1 trailer... I know about the departure of Christ (or whoever) and all but why would the story completely changes? (unless they based the story on him and other programmers hate him very much and changed everything)

In the trailer it showed a black hole (the infamous black hole), an army marching, space craft crash landing on a planet, and other interesting stuff that never happend in the game...

Maybe they were toying with different ideas of how to destroy SOL. I haven't seen the E3 one you're talking about, but I saw the one from here. I haven't beaten the game yet, so I don't know if it ends up that the Nomads did in fact destroy SOL or not. But the trailer from this site showed the destruction of SOL and then the game's ntro shows not a single Nomad. I don't know.

Ya, I saw that trailer. Seemed there was a whole nother story line they had going. The main character wasn't even Trent - or it didn't look like him. It also showed a Defender unfolding its wings and some more of em dropping out of a cruiser one after another, pretty cool
