Adv. Champion Shields

You will notice when you scan some outcasts, corsairs, or bounty hunters in Omicron Gamma or Alpha, they use that particular shield. But nowhere sells it. It has a regen rate of 0 or 1 or something, maybe because its an NPC that has it equipped, but thats where Ive seen it.

check the lootprops.ini

there shield01_mark10_lf (hf/fr) is available

however i dont know what the line
drop_properties = 6, 646965, 646965, 0, 2, 1
means.

you cant buy the shield, but i suppose its possible that you can 'find' the shield.
it would be interesting what you have to kill / or where this shield is located.
perhaps someone could find this out?

btw: seems like outcasts carry the l10 graviton (shield01) and bounty hunters the l10 shield02 (loadouts.ini)

No one I have ever killed has dropped a shield. Everything else on the ship just about, but never a shield.

a friend of mine has found a shield - however not a good one.

but he does not know where he got it (or if it came out of a wreck). but when he returned to a base after fighting for some time, he had a second shield.

I guess that's the shield from another ship he had.
When you buy a new ship you get to keep you stuff to put on your new one.

So my guess is he still has the shield from his previous ship.
The ini files state that shield don't drop when a ship it shot to pieces.. Kind of normal too, because the shield is destroyed befor you can hit the plane which would make the shield useless when dropped after the ship is killed

as long as i know, he sold his old shield - think he got the ship he flew for some time already.

which ini file tells that no shield can drop?

isnt it the shielkd they sell in the corsairs base? I brought one and it was 312K so im guessing it might be this one.

From all the postings on this board (lots of beta testers and long time players of demos and PR betas), I think most FL veterans would agree that shields are NOT dropped after a battle. I also don't recall anyone mentioning finding shields from a junk ship either (RED X).

If you through the ini files, all NPS shields have a "false" under if it's lootable. And I do believe that all NPCs have a recharge rate of 1. And it would be normal for nomades to have it at 0, because they don't even use shields. So how any one would even find a shield on one is beyond me. I still wish to crank up the price on the Adv. Champ to balance it more. I don't really like to feel that I'm cheating, so I would like to be a higher price than what it is, and I've already put the location of the shield with the other lvl 10 shields, instead of just Manhattan, where it seems everyone else puts their stuff
