Game Guide: Level 10 Weapons Locations/Stats
If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!
AFAIK, in an unmodded game, you can only get Ripper mine droppers from some of the Outcast fighter tomb-wrecks in Omicron Alpha. The .ini file containing the loadouts for the wrecks indicates that some carry the Paralyzer launcher along with the ammo for it; but the launcher doesn't get dropped, while the ammo does... whether that was intentional or not, I couldn't say. But, who wants to "sacrifice" a c10 hardpoint to use one of them, anyway?
From what I can tell, the absence of the Paralyzer missile launcher was not intentional. All the loot (including the missile launcher) is defined as being droppable if you shoot up the proper wrecks. But I think that the designer who assigned the loot overlooked that fact that many of the wrecks have no wings....and a lot of the weapon hard points are located on wings (oops!). So...no wings = no hardpoints = missing eq.
(Interesting sidenote here: It seems like that the designer who gave the wrecks their loot and the designer who actually made the wrecks are not the same person. In the two different files where the wrecks are defined, they actually used different archetypes when refering to the same object!! Quite frankly, I'm amazed that the game didn't crash because of this....maybe because ultimately, the cmp source file is still the same.)
So it's not just the Paralyzer missile launchers that are missing, but we are missing out on quite a bunch of stuff also. Only the absence of the Paralyzer missile launcher is noticed, since all the other equipment we can get some way or another.
However, it is also my belief that once DA found out the launcher was missing, they decided to keep it that way for play balance issues. I guess the only way we'll know for sure is to ask DA.

AN:
I use 4 Nomad Blasters, two Tozona Del Cid's and one Rapier Turret on a Sabre. The Cids and the Rapier knock down shields fast so the Blasters can get to the hulls. They all fire at 4.00. As was stated, if all your firing rates don't match, the aiming reticule averages the rates and you get a guestimate of where to fire. I have to say that I've found all these class 10 weapons and tried them, but they don't seem to compare with the Nomad Stuff. Some of them fire at 2.00, which is way too slow. Most of them use too much energy to keep firing for long. Are some guys just using them because they make a pretty flash?? No offense, but really?
Also, I've noted that once you "harvest" class 10 weapons from a location, you cannot leave that sector and come back and get more. I'm satisfied with what I have and have sold off all my other class 10 stuff, but for those who are just finding them, hold onto them until you are sure you don't want them because you can't get them again as far as I know.
