LVL10 shield -- 12000???

I heard on one forum about a shield:

"The Bounter Hunter L10 Shield that has a regen of 80 and a shield strength of 12000"

If so, where?!?

Where can I get the best shield? All I can find is a lvl10 adv brigadine shield (8000 or so) on omicron beta -- the outcast base (name starts with an R) or at Corsairs, Planet Cletes in Omicron Theta I think (or is it Gamma?)

hmmm sounds like a little exploring to iam friendly with the bounty hunters so might make it easier

I was under the impression that the shield you can get in the Omicron systems was the best one, but maybe I'm wrong.

Advanced Brigandine class 10 shields from Outcasts are 8280 capacity but have regen of 184 so I aint trading those for even 20K shields (bring 312K along to purchase those thou hehe)

The 12000/80 BH shield is a myth. I decompressed all the ini files. There are 3, and only 3 different types of shields: Graviton, Molecular, and Positron, designated 01, 02, and 03, respectively. Grepping through the market files, no graviton shields above L7 or L8 (I forget exactly) are sold ANYWHERE. No molecular shields above L9 are sold. Positron L10 is Advanced Brigandine.

The shield used by high-level bounty hunters is the L10 Molecular, a shield not sold in the game. When scanned, it has a shield value of ~10K, regen rate indeterminate, as all AI ships scan as having a shield regen rate of 1.

I repeat: There is NO 12000 pt shield, and it would extremely inconsistent, following the progression of any shield's regen rate, for it to have a regen rate of only 80. This shield a MYTH. It does not exist.

The L10 Graviton shield is the Advanced Champion; I've never seen it for sale, but some NPC ships use it. Its stats from scanning their ships:

Shield Class 10
Shield Capacity 10127
Regen Rate: 1 (?!?)
Regen Power Drain: 10

Too bad shields never drop, though a shield with a regen rate of 1 wouldn't be very useful...

All AI ships have a regen rate of 1, regardless of which shield they are using.

Norfleet is correct, this is why AI ships never regain any shields.

Would be pretty boring if the best shield for the very heavy fighters only has a hitpoint of 8000. Plus you can get it from most omega and omicron systems.
Strange that there are old fighter ships with very high level10 guns, but no fighter with a good lvl10 shield, over 10000 HP and a regen of atleast 300.
