I hear rumors of a super trade ship. Far superior to any we can buy. People say it's in the game, but no one has found it? Has anyone found it? What are the stats on this transport? Anyone got any hunches? If it's out there, lets work together and find it!
Currently yes, but Tostaky brings up a good point about the shields. There has to be a Class 10 Frieghter out there somewhere. If not, it's kinda foolish. I want to make profit, and the best way is to haul things through enemy territory, so I try it in the Humpback, and I die. They need a bigger ship. Or just make the Train pilotable, or the "Armored Transport". 275 is hardly decent for transports. 5 Titans could do the same, and they wouldn't have a chance in hell of dying!
The final version must release better transports, and make the drug trade more profitable, but more dangerous, because right now, the drug trade is a joke! I hauled drugs from one side of the galaxy to the next, and the police didn't scan me once! Plus, it's more profitable to trade other goods, because they profit more. So what is the point in the drug trade? It's illegal, and not as profitable. Seems foolish to me.
I just want my damn super transport! That can hold 1000 cargo spots atleast! Who wants to be a transport in a galaxy full of trigger happy fighters? Especially when the fighters are WAY more powerful!

Trading is way too easy, U can make huge amounts of credits with ships available now, no need for bigger transports.
You can buy stuff with 100-200 credits and sell it with 1000-2000 credits, and with a Humpback which carries 250 tons of cargo... well, it's just too easy to make money with trading.
And it doesn't matter traveling trough hostile territories, because jumping between trade lanes is simply too easy. Just set best path to your destination and dock to the trade lines just before you drive trough from them, the pirates can't catch you. When pirates interrupts the trade lane it's little harder, but with counter measures and your cruise/thruster it's not so hard to escape to the next trade lane ring.
I started one career (Multiplayer) by completing 2 easy missions to get little money so I could buy something for trading. I killed 14 enemies in those 2 missions. Then I started to trade, several different trade routes, there's plenty of them. I started with Rhino which carries 80 tons of cargo, made about 300 000$. Then I bought Humpback (250 tons) and I traded few hours all over the galaxy and when I got bored, I had over 3 million credits in my pocket.
Well there's lot's of guys who has done this, and I wonder how much fighting they went trough while trading. My point is that when I stopped trading, I had 31 kills under my belt. 31!!! I killed 14 of those in those 2 missions when I was rookie, so while gaining 3 300 000 credits I had to kill 17 enemies.
So bigger transports?
Fine, if they make trading more difficult. Pirates should leave the bases alone because they dont have a chance there and go interrupting trade lanes more. Disabling a trade lane should be more efficient, when taking out 1 ring the whole lane should go off. If the entire single lane would go off, U would have to fight your way trough to your next waypoint.
And finally the prices. They are always the same and they shouldn't be. If I buy 250 tons of luxury food from Cambridge the price at Cambridge should go up by 30-50 credits. And when I sell 240 tons of Luxury food at Denver the price should go down at Denver by 300-500 credits.

But uhm not to be rude or anything but WHY do anyone want to do a lot of trading??
After SP I was lvl 17-18 or so and I bought a Humpback and did a couple of trade runs...that leveled me to around 30 or so and gave me more money than I could spend...I bought a decked out Sabre and started exploring and doing a few missions here and there and quickly went to 38 with nomad blasters etc...I never use any money (almost) since I get enough nanos/batteries from fighting and right now I have several millions without anything to spend it on...
Sure if someone enjoys travelling back and forth hauling goods then I wont say anything but I didnt find it very exciting myself and if its just to get money to be able to buy things you only need the Humpback or the Dromedar and do maybe 3-4 full trade runs....
Sure if you actually could use all of the money it would be worth it, but it doesnt seem like you can so....

It doesnt matter on your shields. U can drive from New York to Rheinland and continue through Omega systems to Cambridge at Bretonnia with Starflier with the shields which U get at the beginning.
The point is that its too easy to jump between trade lanes. Pirates need class 10 weapons to stop you when you learn to dock quickly to the trade lanes.

zeilon, what I'm saying is mainly for multiplayer. I wouldn't mind getting caught with some drugs on a huge trade ship and having to make a run for the border! Just the fact that I'd be swarmed by not only pirates trying to get me, but police as well.
Just the thrill of smuggling 900 units of Cardamine would be great.
