Smuggling and Deceit

When you smuggle contraband between systems and across trade lanes, is it possible to eject your cargo before being scanned, so that the police and military forces detect no contraband aboard your ship, akin to the eject/retrieve strategy used in Wing Commander: Privateer?

By transporting illicit cargo, does your reputation with 'good' guys automatically decrease, and conversely, increase with 'persons of ill repute', even before being scanned and found out by the law?

You can eject your cargo but the police would prolly tractor it in, if you eject it and then retract it while the cops are still there they will kill you.

If you are found with contraband your reputation does take a hit i'f im not mistaken, and especialy when you dont drop the cargo when told to do so

The problem with that strategy is chances are you will most likely get scanned while you are fixing to land wherever you want to sell. I guess you could get there, eject it, wait for someone to scan you, tractor it in and proceed but it seems like it would be easier to sneak in quick and land before anybody checks you out.

Refer to our commodity list.

Alien organisms, guns and drugs are classified as contraband.
