Tip Thread...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

The single most important tip EVER is to have at lease one Pulse weapon on your ship. Don't forget that EVERY weapon in the game (except Pulse) does half damage to shields. If you can rip down the enemy's shields quickly, your guns can do much more damage. Combine Pulse weapons with the Javelin series of missiles for maximum damage.

Miscellaneous other tips:

- ONLY the Javelin series of missiles is worth having. NO other missiles are AT ALL good value. The Stalker series just don't do enough damage, and the Eraser series is pointless in the extreme - just buy a Pulse weapon instead. Don't worry that the Javelin series has virtually no homing ability. Just only launch when the opponent is unshielded and heading towards you and you should hit every time.

- To get away from pursuing NPCs equipped with Cruise Disruptors, Engine Kill and use your thruster for a couple of seconds, in the direction you intend to go. Then release the thruster and turn around to face the enemies. You'll still be travelling at thruster speed, but since you're aiming at them, the NPCs will scatter. Wait until they disappear from your sensor display, turn around and engage cruise. Job done!

- The faster the refire rate on a weapon, the less efficient it is. This means that if you were to fire 6 Skyblast Bs constantly (refire 8.33) and 6 Firekiss 2s (refire 2.00), your energy would run out much more quickly with the Skyblasts. It's the tradeoff for being easier to hit with. That's why I stick with weapons around 4.00 or 3.03

- Don't trust the Go To autopilot for taking you through minefields or fields of explosive gas. Do it manually.

If you need to improve your reputation with almost anyone then go back to Liberty and blast the Xenos. They're enemies with practically everyone. If you're friendly with the Rogues and/or Junkers then hang around the Colorado Jump Hole cause they always go there. Rochester usually has a "Kill Xenos" mission too.

Actually, U can acsess Liberty and Rhienland in SP (once u reach kusari). Ive done it before. Also, energy no longer becomes and issue when u get nomad weps (class 10). They have high dam + decent refire. My config (primary weps.)

High-level enemies (Edge worlds, Hispania):
2 Tizona Del Cids
2 Nomad Energy Cannons
2 Nomad Energy Blasters
Other Sytems (along with my Nomad weaponry):
2 Sunblast B's, or 2 Salamanca Mk2's, or 2 Firekiss Mk2's, or 2 Hornviper Mk2's (depends on how I currently feel or what my current prey is). I find missiles and mines to be a waste of cash. If you really want them, then go to the Edge worlds and Hispania, where the enmies pack powerfull missiles and mines (Class 7 Javelin variant Lancers, and Swatter Mines).

You can get Firekiss and Hornviper MKIIs?? HOLY SH*T!

Absolutely the most lucrative trade route in Sirius--even more than shipping artifacts or Cardamine--is diamonds from Planet New Berlin to Planet New Tokyo. There's a 12,556 net income per diamond. Get a drom or a humpback, load it up with diamonds, and you're set

Buy Niobium for $415
Go through New Tokyo - Honshu - Sigma 13 - The Ring (new Berlin System)
Sell Niobium for $1440

Or go to Leipzig station, Dresden and sell it for $16 k. Doesn't seem like much difference, but it is significant

Ok all you youngin's listen up. I wrote the book on smuggling so here it is

The Tricks:
1. try and make sure no-one hates you, generaly that invovles no-one loving you so be prepared to have a little less of the hugging.
2. Avoid tradelanes and jumpgates. Use the holes and cruise, takes longer is safer.
3.What you can do is when you are about to be scanned before they announce, dump your cargo wait till they scan and pick it up.
4. When they ask you to dump the loot, stall and drift to a tradelane if possible. hitting cruise might not be a good idea. thats basic but its saved my ass many a time.
5. come on planets over the top and from the dark side.
6 if your flying with escorts get them to shoot up everything around you. Police cant scan you if there dead.
7 this is a last resort trick, when they ask you to jettison, jettison and imediatly pick it back up. They rarley respond.

Those are the basic ones i can think of...

a good tip that saved my ass a lot of times is avoid getting shot, as when ure shot it causes damage, and when a certain amount of damage is caused you transform into this orange thingy, and you have to start where ever you(or the game) saved last

Tip for avoiding piracy by neutral AI pirates:

Carry around a few units of worthless (cheap) cargo in addition to your main payload. Scrap metal, Oxygen, and Water are the best three, since they cost next to nothing at all no matter where you land. If you happen upon a would-be pirate (AI), chances are they'll demand that you drop the cheap crap instead of your real payload. This way, you can give them what they want and skedaddle without worrying about losing any time or money.

Tips for moving about in Sirius faster

1.Using trade lanes: Hit dock (F3) then hit free flight and don’t steer. As soon as you are about 2m from the trade lane hit dock again. It is much faster than letting your ship stop cruise and “Initiate trade lane sequence”.

2.Using Jump Gates: When there is a line waiting and you can’t use it right away, join the formation of the group about to use the jump gate. You’ll hitch a ride.

To Beta-5: Once you reach kusari, you can travel ANYWHERE (I took a vacation to omicron gamma, but I also once wnt to Texas and Hamburg, though I didn't bother saving).
Wilde: Hornviper and Firekiss Mk2's can be found on Pirna Border station Dresden.
All top house wepaons are found on their police or navy base in a high-danger system:
Civilain: Detroit Munitions, NY
Liberty: Willard Research Station, California
Bretonia: Battleship Essex, Dublin(note: its labeled as "bretonia amred forces station because the designer didnt program it properly, its just like the numerous "object unknowns".
Kusari: Something Station, Hokkaido (its the same gas cloud as the JG back to New Tokyo. however, ypur sensors are inhibted, prevemting them from detecting the station until you are very close).
You can find all corsair weapons in Omicron Gamma, and all Outcast weapons in Omicron Alpha.
Nomad wepaons are slavaged from nomad ships in the unknwon systems, but I believ you have to be lvl. 32 (sp) or lvl. 34 (mp), though im not precisely sure.
Codenames are found on a variety of wrecks, usually in Edge worlds and Hispania, though a few are in Border worlds.

Online tip for creating a new character on a Vanillia Server to get a 100% neutral Reputaion and Good ship in a few hours work

Method one if the New York Police Depots are there:

1. Your starting ship, sell enough Bots to buy a Patriot and counter measures.

a. Hit the first Police Depots for its cargo

b. Quickly enter cruise and fly around the back of Manhattan and dock at Trenton, this resets your temporary bad reputation, there is another way but considered unsporting by some. Then repeat for all the other police pods until you have enough to buy a Rhino making sure you buy a level 2 shield and bats and at least 3 weapons that aren’t too powerful. Finish off the police depots with the above method. This helps later on when you want to buy the Dromedary as the Hackers/Outcast/Rouge reputation is neutral by that time. Note at some point go to Rochester when you have 90k and get the Junker Bribe.

c. Hit Flint for its Cardamine, if you hit this then you can afford buy a Dromedary, then go to Mactan in Magellan while carrying H-fuel. After buying it take Cardamine back to New York but also hit the wreck in California for its Cardamine.

2.

a. Buy Luxury Goods at Manhattan and fly to the GC base in Hokkaido and sell the Goods there.

b. Next trade Luxury Goods and Cardamine between Roppongi and GC base in Hokkaido.

Repeat the above trading until you have enough cash for the ship you want, takes about 40 mins to get 1.5 million enough for an Eagle and shield and minor weapons.

3. Finally get the Zoner reputation hack, that fixes the remaining hostile reputations.

Method 2 if the New York Police Depots are Not there:

1.

a. Loot what wrecks you can in New York / California without killing anyone and do some minor trading so you have at least 90k in cash [buy a Patriot if you need to but makes getting that initial cash longer

b. Then dock at Rochester and get the Junker bribe

c. Buy a Rhino and buy Luxury Goods at Manhattan and fly to the GC base in Hokkaido and sell the Goods there.

d. Take the Cardamine to NY then buy H-fuel and go buy a Dromedary on Mactan in Magellan

e. Now trade until you have enough cash for a fighter of your choice, just remember to get the Zoner reputation hack, that fixes the remaining hostile reputations.
