Nice little spoiler

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Nice little spoiler

I discovered something very interesting not too long ago. If you have a server and change your ship to a Nomad fighter, go to Omega-41 with the Neutron Star. Fly directly toward the star, you will not blow up, cause I have done this myself. Eventually you will fly straight into the star, but here's the kicker. Instead of burning up like with most stars, you will bounce right off it. I guess they didn't need a burn zone cause typically the radiation will eat up the hull of most fighters, even the Titan. For some reason though, the Nomad fighter will not die before you bounce off the dead star. Interesting, isn't it?

odd little thing, its cus the nuteron star has no atmesphere

Post Mon Oct 04, 2004 3:23 pm

Right, exactly, it has no atmosphere, that's why you bounce off. I figure the developers put no atmosphere on it, cause they figured that no fighter could withstand the radiation damage before they hit the star. Anyway, fun little discovery.

I think it more in the line if incomplete parts of the game from development. There are other quarks as well in the game.

Post Mon Oct 04, 2004 4:29 pm

That's a good way of putting it too, and that's the cool thing when you discover little quarks like that in a game. Makes things interesting. If the game were perfect, it would be pretty boring.

The neutron star has always been like that. I can touch it using nanobots or a speed mod. I think neutron stars are supposed to be spinning as fast as four times a second? The sun in Omega-11 is much cooler.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength

you can still get burned by atmosphere in "airless" moons , anyway that was nice, i will try it

Post Tue Oct 05, 2004 5:33 am

Shouldn't going near a nuetron star cause you to be sucked into it? They are like as dense as an object can get before it becomes a black hole!

Post Tue Oct 05, 2004 8:33 am

That's a good point, but FL's only a game. If it were a real neutron star, there would be nothing in the system as it would have sucked it all in. And would that be much fun? I think not.

Getting alot of cool replies to this topic. I'm gonna sum it all up which planets, moons, stars that have no atmosphere.

1. Neutron Star, Omega-41 System, Edge World.
2. Moon around Planet Houston, Texas System, Liberty Space.

Anymore, please post and I will keep adding them to the list. Also, I wanna broaden this topic to include any other querks you find in the game. Please post any.

Isn't that the object that causes the rings? Some people said they found a similar object in other places with ringed planets.
