Of Titans and Hammerheads

I'm puttering around some of the Omicron systems online some lately, flying my Hammerhead on missions against Titans. My load is:

2x Reaver I wingtip mounts
2x Reaver II fuselage mounts
2x Adv. Debilitator lower-wing mounts
Class-9 Molecular
Hornet CD

Now, once I get the shields on the Titans down (not a problem), my guns tend to have lousy accuracy. I usually start out on just the Debilitators, then switch over to the lasers once shields are down, but even when I'm in perfect rear firing position, my guns tend to miss something more than half their shots, even when the cursor is right-on.

Now with my ship's powerplant, missed shots are a lot of wasted energy. I don't know if it's the shape of the Titan, a wierd default aim point the computer auto-targets, or because my lasers are far apart from each other - two mounted on the forward wingtips, two on the fuselage - and give me a wierd firing solution. Might I see better accuracy if I switched the Debilitators with the wingtip Reavers?

Any thoughts would b great. And no, I'm not buying another ship!

Oh, and I understand there's another Class-9 shield out there somewhere - anywhere besides Outcast or Corsair bases I can get it?

hmmm.. well Hbutts suk altogether, so... I dont kno cuz I hav that opinion, so I never use em. Watdu mean, "another class 9" there is no other class 9 unless u use mods (as in the Champion Grav shield)

On a Zoner base, the class 9 molecular shield is to be found. however, the best shield for hammerhead is the class 8 graviton.

You need skyblast b's or kraken type 2's instead of reavers. never use bounty hunter weapons, they're weak. tizona del cid or adv. debilitator is ok. a lancer missiles is useful. starkiller on missions are useful

However, Hornets are well-rounded and can hit most targets while torps are slow and stupid. I just put them on my ships for decoration (looks better than a missile launcher)

the hh is a fun ship, just as some other ships around...
it can be made real powerfull, just as the centurion...

i flew it a while and di the same as you, but an other kind off outload...
i used 4 bounty hunters particle cannons and 2 reaver blasters... and used also the same shield as you...

total bounty hunters outlaod... same weaps and shield as the NPC bounty hunters may have...

however the class 8 gravitonic is a better shield, against some weaps even better then the c10 positronic... look first what weaps the corsairs use (you do missions against them, so take a outload with is good in defending your own (bestest shield with have good protection against pulse weaps and neutron blasters). and an outload with is good against their shield (positron if i'm right) and good against hull anyway (kraken type 2 and a cannonball/lancer missile).

however the hammerhead can have 2 class 8 and 4 class 9 and a class 9 turret, i think it is usefull to put a adv. debilitator in the c8 spot, and a kraken type 1 or a lancer missile in the other c8 spot...
the adv. debilitator do lesser shield damage then the tiz del cid, but uses enormous energy a shot lesser... look for weas with don't use to much energy from your powercore... your powercore is rather small, 7400 energy in total, 750 regen a sec. against 8900 total energy and 890 regen a sec by the centurion...

If you want, use bounty hunter weapons, but remember Kraken type 2's and gmg skyblast b's are better than buckshots and reaver mk II

Thanks for the input. As I remember, the only way to get a class-8 grav shield was when you buy a Titan, correct? That would be kinda hard, as Corsairs are kinda number-one on my s*** list at the moment. I also had a hard time staying alive around Omicron Theta when I still had my default Class-7 grav shield.

I hadn't thought of the Skyblasts, I'll have to pick some up. They're always fun. Hadn't considered the BH particle weapons much either, though now that I do, I remember them being much more effective than the lasers overall. Mental Note.

As for the Debilitators, I'm never giving them up. Nevaahh! In fact, I should probably pick a couple more up as spares. They're more than adequate for my purposes, and using them lets me recharge the power plant.

Oh, and I despise missiles. Other than my Hornet (which makes many capture/assassination missions WORLDS easier) they'll never touch the hull of my precious ship.

lol, allmost all my loadouts with i make now have missiles in it...

i have now a dagger char with the next outload;
- adv. stunpulse
- slingshot missile launcher
- slingshot missile launcher
- sweeper missile launcher
- stunpulse turret
- wasp cd (maybe get the hornet cd)
- razor mine (going for the driller)
- adv. cm

say what you think... but a banshee player knows how it stings... lol... he couldn't tought me sometimes before he died...

missiles are a powerfull outload when you know when to shoot them, and then it is able to do missions with you wouldn't try with that ship with guns only...
ok, it has it's cost, but as you can do a few missions more in the same time, you make that money back before you even know

I like using Salamankas, Wyrms or most any of the Rhine bang-bang. Having a Cid helps a lot. The 'sair Firestalker {think that is corect name} is a nice powerful homing missile.

It is hard to fly with turkeys when you soar with eagles.

I agree with Lazer. Missile launchers r REPULSIVE. Hornets r ok, but i put torp launchers on 4 decoration. The ONLY time I would use missiles is in modded games wer I use the Gundam missile launcher

MIssile launchers are good for a laugh now and then, and shoving two Cannonballs into someone's face makes a very satisfying explosion sound.

If you're hostile to the Corsairs by a long way, the chances are you'll be in fair standing with the Outcasts. You said you were considering BH particle weapons - forget it. Unless you're going for an "all legal" config, get Krakens instead. They use exactly the same energy as Buckshots, have 50 less speed/range (pah) but do almost 200 more hull damage. Same refire rate too.

Darkstone is right. BH weapons are bad. The extra range they have is worthless. In fact, if you divide the damage the reavers do in one shot (163) by energy used in one shot (61) you'll get something around 2.7. Skyblast b's (244/61=4)
buckshot 391/122 = 3.2 kraken 586/122 = 4.8 (almost like a neutron weapon)

Other than that, remember missiles don't use energy, and energy is limited on a hamerhead. When i use a hammerhead, i mount a lancer missile.
