The Complete Story of What Happened on Earth
I know the first of this will start out like the opening cut scenes of Freelancer, but bear with it, it does change.
It was the 23rd century, mankind's darkest hour. The war had been raging for almost one hundred years, we had been fighting for so long, no one could remember the reason why it had all started in the first place. All we knew is that there were two sides, the Coalition and the Alliance. For decades millions died for the same piece of rock again and again, until finally, one side managed to gain the upper hand, the Coalition. In desperation, the Alliance launched five sleeper ships. The hope was for them to begin again, far from the war and strife that had befallen Earth. To start free from the prejudices that had divided us for so long. Each sleeper ship was crissioned after it's patron nation, the Bretonnia, the Rheinland, the Hispania, the Kusari, the Liberty. Against all odds, the colony ships managed to get through the Coalition blockade, and headed for the Sirius system. But for those left behind, times were hard, and they were about to get even harder.
One by one, the Alliance bases were overrun, until only one remained, Pluto. It was there that the Alliance thought to make their last gallant stand against the Coalition, but then something happened no one could have expected. A large and strange ship of an alien design came out of nowhere. It was ironic that at that moment, for the first time in over a hundred years, the human race stood undivided. But that sweet moment could only be savored in those few bitter seconds, for these aliens had not come in peace.Using one of the front cannons, they launched their most powerful blast into the sun, destroying it and all of it's neighboring planets.
By blind luck, a young general managed to survive the shock wave on the dark side of Pluto. His name was Aticias Rockford. After searching in vain for almost two days, he finally found a ship that could still fly. It was then that he knew he had been spared for a reason. Someone had to warn the colonist in the Sirius system that they were coming, that the human race had found it's true enemy, the Nomads. That was 800 years ago, when we came here to re-build our lives. We've come a long way since then, we have grown, we have prospered, we have flourished. But we will never forget.....
well, there you go! I hope this has cleared up the fog some of you people have about what happened to Earth. This also gives quite a few hints about my fanfic, but I won't tell you the name. He he..
