Ultimate configuration for sabre

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Ultimate configuration for sabre

In your opinion, what is the best configuration for the Sabre and where do I find the parts? Thanks.

This may come as a surprise to you, but there is NO ultimate configuration for any ship, especially the sabre. Your weapons loadout should reflect your personal style of combat, and flying, ie. whether for strike, raiding, or dogfights. The ultimate loadout is the one YOU pick. Some work better for some people and not so good for others. But, just so this isn't a total waste, here's my personal favorite:

2x Wrym Type 2 (or 1 and 1 Tizona del Cid)
4x Nomad Energy Cannon
Wrym Turret (or Salamanca Turret)
Hornet CD
Advance. Cm
Ripper Mine

Alternatively, the other school of thought (primarily) is to use fast-firing weapons, so many people will mount up to six GMG Skyblast B cannons, and a Skyblast B turret, or a combination of Skyblasts and Tizonas. Experiment around a bit. No one can give you an ultimate loadout. It's what you have to find for yourself.

I have a few favourite loadouts I use. None of them is better than the others, it depends on how I'm feeling.

2x Tizona Del Cid (This is fairly standard)
4x Salamanca Mk II / Wyrm Type 2 / Skyblast B / Nomad Blaster (if I'm feeling cheap)
Wyrm / Salamanca Turret
Ripper Mine
Hornet Cruise Disruptor (I used to use torps, but meh)

I chop and change between all those options. Usually I'm found with the Salamancas, because they're more efficient than the Skyblasts but easier to use than the Wyrms

3x Diamondback
3x Onyx
1x Salamanca Turret
Ripper Mine
Sunslayer Torp.

i guess

End of message, Dexter over and out!

Depends:
PvP:
1x Tizona
1x Kraken II (alternatively a Lancer launcher)
4x Nomad Blaster
1x Rapier Turret

NPCs:
2x Kraken II
4x Nomad Blaster
1x Skyblast Turret B

obviously, there is no ultimate setup

sabre
2x tizona
4x nomad energy blaster
1x salamanca turret
1 ripper mine
1 hornet cd
1 adv. cm

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength

Thank you for all your replies. I think I'm going with the Salamanca Mk II and Nomad Laser (is it true the Nomad Laser fires at zero energy cost?). One last question: How do I get the Nomad weapons? Thanks.

Post Sat Sep 04, 2004 8:28 am

Yep, no energy cost. You can find Nomad Blasters and Cannons in the unknown systems in Omicron Alpha and Gamma. You have to shoot the nomad ships flying there and you have to be a certain level for the guns to drop at all (I think it was around level 35).

and Nomad Laser

Careful with your wording there. The Nomad Laser is the weapon with the refire rate of 1 that does slightly under 2000 hull damage per shot. It's unobtainable. The only Nomad weapons you can get are the Cannon and the Blaster. Don't waste your time trying to get Lasers to drop because they won't.

if you can handle the energy usage, you'll kill with
1 tizona
5kraken type 2
1 salamanca turret

a titan could handle that energy usage

y use such an expensive ship when a patriot can detroy all...

well... i must think hard, it is always nice to have outcast outload on that ship;

funstyle bonus;
- kraken type 2
- kraken type 2
- wyrm type 2
- wyrm type 2
- kraken type 2
- kraken type 2
- kraken turret

pvp outload;
- same as on all other c-10 ships, except i should use a turret on this one, and on the others it's a waste spot...

If you're using fast firing weapons, use the Skyblast turret b. If you're weapons are slower firing, use the Salamanca Turret. If you want to save energy, Salamanca turret.

as everyone else has said there is no "ultimate" loadout for any ship.
but here is one i like to use.

* 2 Kraken 2's
* 4 nomads (blasters or cannons)
* Adv Debilitator turret

and the other's like ripper mine, Adv CM, and hornet CD

i loved to flew a defender in the past with a sunslayer torp... well, expensive, uhm... yes
2 missiles, 2 shield busters, pyros gun and turret...
also use ripper mines and adv. countermesures...
and do some 245k missions and find out that your total repair and ammo cost is above 180k a time... lol...

well... about the best outload, their are some better outloads then others, maybe their are for some ships the outload with you must use for thus high payment missions or against players (other outload for both, while flying both with the same ship)...
in the mission char, it can be that you use an extra gun instead off a missile launcher, or otherwhise...

it doesn't matter what outload you have, if you feel good with the outload, test it and if you find something wrong, change only that... if you still must test in pvp, then do radical changes... yes, it is expnsive, but will get you some feelings with some div outload, try also an outload with speed off projectile is 500 and 750 at the same time... aiming is a little div with it, but it will learn you also some other things around...

Pah, when it comes to PvP i prefer to wipe them off the nav map before they even manage their first pass! This is the ONLY way to win against multiple opponents - like up to 5+ or more as well!

2 x Cannonball launchers
2 x Tizona Del Cids
2 x Nomad Blasters
1 x Sunslayer Torp
1 x Adv Countermeasures

Against NPC's you can use what you like - you can take em with nearly anything - but for instant kills - that is the loadout of choice.

Of course - I have won in PvP with just 2 blasters and 2 del cids against a good pilot with nice diamond backs/Del Cids loadout too!!

I don't brag....i am THAT good.

I am also incredibly modest!
