Planet Pygar- Omicron Theta

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Planet Pygar- Omicron Theta

I don't think you actually go there in the storyline (I have just finished a guide to it, shortly to be available on our website, so I should know, but correct me if I'm wrong).

However, reading the Sybex Official FL guide it says for Omicron Theta, and I quote 'Settled Planets- Pygar [limited access'. Could this be a hint at part of the unfinished storyline?

I'll check when I am next in Theta with a scan to read the description (or perhaps someone can check?), but if the book is right then this is entirely possible.

Possibly. But if i rememeber correctly, Planet Gaia is also limited access and you can't actually dock with it. The only people allowed on Gaia are cambridge research institute scientists. Pygar could very well be limited access for scientific personnel only, much like Gaia. After all, it is where Sinclair, a cambridge scientist, finds the Dom Kavash artifact.

The reason Pygar is only limited access is because it has sandstorms that reach speeds of over 800 km/h and can last several years. I'd say that's a good enough reason.

well, i thought the planet sinclair was on was Prague. I have no clue about the rest.

Post Sun Aug 15, 2004 5:43 am

Sinclair was on Sprague. But she ad found the artifact before, and probably left when it was stolen, or when they couldn't find anything else.

Trent: It's not the time, it's the sides that keep changing.

sumtimes i also feel that storyline of the game is unfinished.. because in the storyline of the game we only visit the main planets and 2 or 3 others of each house. the storyline never mentioned the Corsairs or other criminal except blooddragons lanehackers .. What happened to GC, molly ,Xenos, Zoners.
if the story line is ended then why the nomads r flying near outkasts and corsairs in the omicron systems ... wat the hell happend to the ORDER and ORILLION. and lots of more

Cheers, Im A NEWBIE ^-^

i guess microsoft wanted to get the game out and never really finished it. This has been talked about in other threads too, please don't start it up again.

I agree, this thread is for discussing Pygar, not the possibility of the story being unfinished.

If it is limited access then shouldn't there be a docking ring?

Is Pygar part of the (already discussed) idea of an unfinished storyline?

And finally, has anyone got any clever ideas about Pygar's actual USE as a limited access planet?

Limited access planets seem to be planets with atmospheres (non gas giant) but unhabitable for humans. And is Pygar a Zoners base?

Post Sun Aug 15, 2004 6:16 pm

hmmm i think that pygar is a zoners planet which they are trying to develpoe because even with sand stromes that don't mean a biggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg settlement made out of super aloyers can't work and with shield generators too soo must be an planet for developing and scentifice research and so is that gas giant near malta it says that its made up of unknow gasses soooooo but i htink that the outs would be mad tho

Um, Darklancer...is your "G" key broken or something?

Post Sun Aug 15, 2004 9:20 pm

Probably had too much synth paste :-)

If Pygar had a docking ring, it would be open to everyone, unless it required an access code, like a jump gate. It could be fortified with a base/ weapons platforms, but what's the point? Keep people from getting grilled by a sandstorm? Somebody please quote the infocard for us, Perhaps there was a mention of terraforming attempts?

Yeah. That or cardamine.

Limited access? To the best of my knowledge that's impossible given the way the game is programmed. The only limited access planets/bases/systems in the game are in the SP storyline and the way that access is limited it by either making the planet/base/system disappear or by permanently deactivating the path or entrance to the p/b/s. I can't think of an example of rotating access or anything of that sort. The only other way to grant limited access would be to use the faction-hostility method and that would probably be rather ineffectual as access wouldn't really be limited so much as restricted to some and free to others based on rep (which is just like every other base in the game)
