Trade routes

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Trade routes

I'm putting this up as a general thread to collect all the good trade routes used by people on this forum, both as a matter of interest as to what other gamers are doing and as a resource for those who are having trouble finding good trade routes.

A good trade route is not just one which is profitable in one direction, there must be some sort of profitable trade to be made on the return route. Sometimes it might be necessary to sell at one planet and buy at another that is either near to the planet you just sold at, or on the route back to the other trading planet.

Sometimes trade routes will be triangular. e.g.
Planet A: Sell commodity 3, buy commodity 1
Planet B: Sell commodity 1, buy commodity 2
Planet C: Sell commodity 2, buy commodity 3

The number of nodes is not necessarily limited, I'd love to see 4, 5 or even 6 node trade routes, with a good profit to be made at each node.

Also, it would be good to include information as to which factions you need to be friendly with in order to dock at each planet/base and what pirate attacks (SP) you're likely to face. It shouldn't be necessary to give positions of jump holes used, as it will be up to each individual player to find those for themselves.

The idea of this thread is to find the most interesting, most profitable, shortest, least (and most) risky trade routes.

Anyone who is inclined to respond to a posted route with: "Everyone knows that one, what a n00b" please consider yourself ignored in advance.

Here is the first trade route, it's probably obvious to most people, but it's very profitable and gives me an easy example to show how this could work. There's the main trades in principle, the suggested route and the route details, which includes base ownership and factions who's paths you're likely to cross.

Trades:
New Berlin[Police: Sell Optical chips for 400. [Profit 312 per item.
Buy Diamonds for 396.
New Tokyo[Police: Sell Diamonds for 1650. [Profit 1254 per item.
Buy Optical chips for 88.

Route:
New Berlin -> Sigma 13 -> Chugoku -> Honshu -> New Tokyo
This route was chose for the ease of jump hole positions, the sigma 13->honshu jump hole is inconventient to reach.

Details:
New Berlin [Police
=> Sigma 13 jump hole
Arrive Sigma 13. BEWARE JUNKERS.
=>Chugoku jump hole
Arrive Chugoku. BEWARE BLOOD DRAGONS.
=>Honshu jump hole. [Dragons weapons platforms here
Arrive Honshu. BEWARE BLOOD DRAGONS, BOUNTY HUNTERS, HOGOSHA
=>Yukama shipyard tradelane [Naval forces
=>New Tokyo jump gate trade lane [Police
=>New Tokyo jump gate
Arrive New Tokyo. BEWARE BLOOD DRAGONS, ALLIANCE, HOGOSHA
=>Shingawa trade lane [Police
=>Tokyo trade lane [Police
New Tokyo docking ring [Police
Sell diamonds, buy optical chips
=>Shingawa trade lane [Police
=>Honshu jump gate trade lane [Police
=>Honshu jump gate [Police
Arrive Honshu
=>Yukawa shipyard trade lane [Police
=>Kansai research station trade lane [Naval forces
=>Chugoku jump hole
<Reach the Chugoku jump hole by either flying directly from Yukawa shipyard or by hitting escape to leave the Kansai trade lane half way along. Do not attempt to fly from the research station to the jump hole as the area is mined.>
Arrive Chugoku. BEWARE BLOOD DRAGONS SHIPS and WEAPONS PLATFORMS
=>Sigma 13 jump hole
Arrive Sigma 13
=>New Berlin jump hole
Arrive New Berlin. BEWARE HESSIANS, BOUNTY HUNTERS
=>New Berlin trade lane [Police
=>New Berlin docking ring [Police
Sell optical chips, buy diamonds.

So that's it. If you have a suggested trade route but you don't want to be bothered with all the typing involved in doing the whole route, just post one of the shorter formats above with the commodities to be traded and the base owners.

This is just an experiment for me so thanks in advance to anyone who contributes.

If you're not worried about questionable alliances, I know a good 2 way trade route.

Engine Components (Planet Honshu, Honshu System) -----> Arranmore Base, Dublin System
Gold (Arranmore Base, Dublin System) -----> Planet Honshu, Honshu System

Post Thu Aug 05, 2004 12:56 am

I use this one because its very safe if you stay to the trade lanes.

New Berlin: Sell gold, buy Diamonds
New Tokyo: Sell diamonds, buy engine components
New London: Sell engine components, buy gold

@Blaze, That's a very profitable trade route, but it would take you forever to do it. You'd play for an hour and finish it maybe once. I think routes need to be profitable, and quick as well.

Kind of long and you have to be not hated by the Blood Dragons or the Outcast but worth a million a run in a Dromedary. I can't remember the prices so don't hold me to what is listed.
Manhatten:buy Luxury Consumer Goods ($140)
Ainu:Sell Luxury Consumer Goods ($1400) buy Cardimine ($480)
Roppongi:Sell Cardimine ($600) buy Luxury consumer goods ($800)
Planet Honshu:sell Luxury consumer goods ($900) buy Optronics ($200)
Ruiz:sell Optronics ($1000) buy Alien Organism ($100)
Planet California Minor:Sell Alien Organism ($2000) buy water ($20)
Alcatraz:sell water ($25) buy Cardimine ($800)
Planet Manhatten:sell Cardimine ($1500) buy Luxury Consumer Goods ($140)

The Money is in the Lux Goods to Ainu, Opts to Ruiz, and Alien Orgies to Cali Minor everything else is just so I don't ever run empty.

Quick route as Follows

New York- Magellen Gate.
Leeds Jump Hole in Magellan

Trades:
New London: Sell Diamonds for 1056. Profit 858 per item.
Buy Light arms for 350.
Ronneburg(Hessians): Sell Light arms for 1022. Profit 672 per item.
Buy Diamonds for 198.

Route:
New London -> Cambridge -> Omega 3 -> Omega 5
There is also a route fom Cambridge to Omega 5, but this brings you out on the Corsair side of Omega 5 meaning you have to circumnavigate a minefield to get to your destination.

Huh...here is the most profitable trade route discovered to date

Diamonds from New Berlin to New Tokyo
Niobium from New Tokyo to The Ring (Right next to New Berlin)

You should earn about 4 grand per way and its good for people who don't want to fly across the Sirius or spend 6 hours trying to get across systems and rember goods and stuff

This is a very long route, but still quite profitable(700,000+ per run). I also like doing it because I'm on good terms with most Liberty and Kusari factions.

Buy Engine Components from New Tokyo

Sell them at Freeport 4 in Magellan. Buy Food Rations.

On your way back to Kusari stop at Pueblo Station in Colorado, sell the Rations, and stock up on Gate/Lane Parts.

Sell the Parts at Chugoku Gate Construction Site in Hokkaido.

Stop at Sapporo Station on your way out of Hokkaido and buy H-fuel.

Go back to New Tokyo and sell the fuel.

Rinse and Repeat. The Food Rations to Pueblo and H-fuel to New Tokyo trips are there for a few extra bucks. Most of the profit comes out of the Engine Comp. to FP4 and G/L Parts to Chugoku Gate.

This one's really quick playing Rebalance, but even without it still holds a ton of profit:

Planet Manhattan -> Luxury Liner Hawaii ( Lux. Consumer goods)
Luxury Liner Hawaii -> Planet Manhattan (artifacts, or H-fuel if you don't want to be illegal)

Post Sat Aug 07, 2004 5:27 am

This one doesn't make nearly as much profit as the above route, but is a bit shorter(still pretty long though).

1. Buy Optical Chips from New Tokyo.

2. Sell them at Planet Leeds. Buy Mining Machinery.

3. Sell the Machinery at Battleship Hood in Dublin. Buy Gold.

4. Sell Gold at New Tokyo.

5. Rinse and Repeat.

Post Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:01 am

ok, i havnt done this myself, but i have an idea.

ruiz base, buy alien organisms for 100
go to alpha
go to theta
go to omega 41
go to omega 5
go to cambridge

sell at cambrdge resarch station for 2000

then buy pharmecuticals for 176 and go back to ruiz ands sell for 800

this probably needs a Humpback with all the radiation and mines.

without counting pershiable goods loss:

Ruiz to Cambridge-475000
Canmbridge to Ruiz-156000

so 631000 per run in a humpback.

if someone can try this and see how much organisms you lose, i would most aprreciate it.

Mahanthan: Sell niobium, buy boron
LD-14 or strokes: Sell Niobium
Leeds: Buy Mining machinery

New London: Buy Lux food
