Second Tohoku Jump Hole

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Second Tohoku Jump Hole

Well, I've seen the question asked many times: Why is there a second Tohoku Jump Hole in Hokkaido?

Well, here's the answer.
Its one of the few things done logically in Freelancer. If this jumphole didn't exist, then the whole mission against Tekagi's Arch would have been pointless. Why? Because the Chugoku hole is the only other exit out of the system, and thus Tekagi would have had to cross Blood Dragon home turf to leave to Rheinland. Not a very good deal for him, and the BD's would have never had to leave home to nail Tekagi. So that's my two cents worth.

lol, yeah but still that still dosnt explain why there arnt any navy patrols and BD patrols after the mission is over. the entire system is "barren or dead" .

In my opinion the system was only recently discovered. Think about it. The Chugoku Gate project In Hokkaido would have needed to find an alternate route into Chugoku through Hokkaido. They must have come across the Tohoko Jump Hole by mistake and have warped to Tohoku. Assuming that Tekagi was rich (being a bent governor and majority owner of Kishiro nets alot), he'd probably have been able to initiate a survey of the system under his own personal control and set up his home. I'm going out out of the topic, aren't I ? =P

It was very recent when Samura discovered Chugoku. However, the Blood Dragons have lived in Chugoku for generations. As for Tohoku, the arch there is Governor Tekagi's retreat.

Not much of a retreat if you ask me. Still doesn't make sense how a jumphole can be 'locked' but whatever. One more thing, unrelated to this topic, did anyone notice that the Liberty Diplomat in the final Cutscene has the same voice as the possesed Rheinland chancellor? Perhaps conspiracy is at hand.

Yeah. I noticed that.... Also the person who did the voice is the same guy who did the voice of that evil guy in Reboot

What confuses me is that the guy at the end looks like the same guy Juni was talking to at the beginning, but they have 2 very different voices. Go figure.

Trent: It's not the time, it's the sides that keep changing.

A few more things:

Walker seems to work for Universal Shipping (same uniform)
The cruisers he has at the end of the game have different names than the ones in the california battle sequence.
Note, I found that if one of Walkers cruisers gets destroyed at the Willard battle, Juni takes away some of your money. (just found out today after playing it on evolutions, where the rheinlanders carry real guns)

The LSF doesn't have any bases, or ships, or people in bars after the SP missions...
