Interested in the fictional history of the Sirius?

I have the document you are looking for! It has basically all the information you need to know on the inhabitants of the Sirius. Plus it was written by the Digital Anvil team! It has everything from the discovery of the Ageira I vault when the Liberty first made planetfall on Manhatten to the single reason for the Lane Hackers creation, or even the backround story on the Popular Revolution which the Red Hessians grew out of. Here, I'll give ya a taste. It's the bit on the Popular Revolution

Conditions were ripe for a revolt. A group of two hundred miners took over the factory control of Leipzig on Von Rohe's Day in 700 AS. The uprising soon spread to Daumann and Kruger facilities around Rheinland, setting off the Popular Revolution. Within two months, the Emperor was overthrown and a new government established. Both Kruger and Daumann were eventually required to pay substantial reparations, and all Rheinland companies were forced to comply with a newly ratified Worker's Convention of Rights. By 720, however, it was back to business as usual. A large group of disillusioned miners decided to take matter into their own hands and formed the Red Hessians, a terrorist organization dedicated to the overthrow of Kruger and Daumann. Within a decade, the idealists in the group had been pushed aside by more pragmatic types who gradually transformed the organization into the most powerful House pirate group in the Sirius Sector. The Hessians are now the among the most feared criminals in the colonies, routinely attacking shipping and even fortified bases within Rheinland and the Omega Border Worlds.

Oh and what the heck, here's the part on the Mollys and how the got to where they are today.

A ruthless tyrant named Sir Edmund Graves ran BMM-owned Graves Survey and Mining operation.
In 752, the miners at the base mutinied, murdering Graves and his cronies. The mutineers quickly fled into the far reaches of the Dublin asteroid fields, and waited the inevitable military response. However, the Bretonia Armed Forces underestimated their preparation and resourcefulness. Several gunboats were destroyed by expertly placed explosive booby trips within the dense asteroid fields.

New London called in the battleship Hood to restore order. Shortly after its arrival in the system, suicide rebel bombers crippled the ship's engines, forcing its abandonment. The situation was at a stalemate. The rebels later drafted a declaration calling for the establishment of an independent state for Dublin. Known as the Mollys, they have been Bretonia's greatest security threat for almost fifty years.

The Hood was recently reoccupied by the Independent Miners Guild, which uses it as a convenient base to mine the adjacent gold fields. The Mollys and BMM are also present in the system, having reserved the better quality deposits for themselves. The battleship Essex has been stationed near the New London Gate, to keep an eye on the Mollys and guard Bretonia's all important gold supply.

That's just a taste. Want to know more? Email me at [email protected] and I can provide with the full document. You can also get it from pc.ign.com but it's in several pieces and for some reason Universal shipping is called Valhalla Shipping. I edited it, and put all together in one sweet package for those of you interested in the fictional backround of the Sirius

Ok, first of all, I didn't write it. It was written by Digital Anvil to give some fictional backround on the Sirius. It was in several differant sections on the IGN Freelancer page so I just copied and pasted the whole thing and edited it. E.g., it was written early in development so Universal shipping was called Valhalla and Synth foods was called something else as well as a few other Liberty corporations were. So i went through, changed a few names to suit it now and it's sweet. If you want to check out the original documents, unchanged you can see them at pc.ign.com...just do a search on Freelancer and scroll down to find them.

Why does the guerrilla fighter fight? We must come to the inevitable conclusion that the guerrilla fighter is a social reformer, that he takes up arms responding to the angry protest of the people against their oppressors, and that he fights in order to change the social system that keeps all his unarmed brothers in ignominy and misery. - Ernesto Che Guevara

How about you upload it to some website so that we don't have to email you.

Just get a free site from Freewebs and upload that document.

If you would rather not send the e-mail, go to ign's website and read the information from there.
