As far as I remember Nomad torpedoes aren't available as dropped items in the unmodded game. They sometimes drop weapons and shield batteries, but that's about all they drop.

Unless anyone else knows otherwise, of course!

You can't buy the mine dropper, I believe you have to find it in Outcast home system, on some ships near the unknown jump hole. Once you pick up the luancher, you can buy the mines at any base. Weird, huh?

I can see it now. "Dang, we have millions of these dang Ripper mines, but no launchers! Somebody's gonna pay for this!" LOL, morons.

There are actually 4 Ripper launchers around the Unknown jumphole. If you can, cart off all 4. You can either sell the extras at a base or to other people who want them.

trust me, you dont want the nomad Torp launcher, stalkers do more damage.
It has a damage lever of... 128 i think it was, leaving 64 shield, it dosent turn, and has a speed of a dead snail, and it glows, so if you cant dodge it, your one very bad pilot.
Only use ive found is disrupting tradelanes, but it takes about 20 shots for them to go down.

If it was available in the game, i would personally hunt down and destroy anyone who had it mounted
