While many of the characters seem like cliches, the writers have tried to give them more depth. For example, true-blue naval officer Walker ironically has to fight against the Liberty Navy for a higher cause. Trent, who doesn't believe in causes, is the opposite of Walker but also ends up giving his loyalty to The Order. Ozu comes and goes pretty fast in the story, but it is clear that he and Trent made a great team. Trent is somewhat in awe of Von Claussen, the famous ace. And Trent and Juni have this Tracy-Hepburn thing going on.

King, Hovis, Tobias, Sinclair, Quintaine, Hakkera, et al. are well played. Once I took too long to loot wrecks in Sigma-13 and Hakkera gave me mission failure, saying "you have dishonored yourself and The Order." I actually felt ashamed to let him down. The actors deserve a lot of credit.

Though he is not in the actual game, I favor Santiago Llorens. He is a Sirius-renowned Outcast pilot. On Newark, a news story talks about a huge bounty on him. And there's stories on Malta about him. But I know where he really is. He's the commodity dealer in Ruiz Base, in Omicron Beta.

There's a mission in Rheinland where you have to destory some Nomad battleships that are in a Rheinland shipyard. As soon as you destroy one battleship loads of reinforcements arrive (Rhienland Navy), and one of the rebel pilot kamikazies into the shipyard which (although fairly unbelievable) destroys the whole yard. When I heard "FOR THE GLORY OF RHEINLAND!" over my Comms I paused and watched him, and I couldn't help but honour him.

Ozu is the Dragons pilot isn't he? I forget how he died, someone fill me in.

Tekagi killed him in the Arch when he and Trent were trying to retrieve the Proteous Tome. He technically dies when he sets off the explosive in the room, killing both him and Tekagi(nomad infected).


Trent: It's not the time, it's the sides that keep changing.

My favourite character is Jose Chavez, the Cadiz bartender. Puke Barwalker has it as his sig line, "Trent! It's good to see my kind of scum"

I like Juni, because she's a tough woman, and I like her voice, too. Tobias is funny just because of that one scene on Leeds (as said earlier). I also like Ozu and the two Rheinland defectors (for some reason)...

Yet I wonder why the heck did two Rhineland pilots have voices like Keanu Reeves?!?

But that's nit-picky...

I definitly liked Ozu, him and Trent had an awesome buddy thing going that should have gone on to a sequel.

I love rebels like the Bundschu and the Blood Dragons, especially the first ones.
Even Trent is impressed by them, as he say in his Log "those guys died for a home they'll never see again"
