How do you move in Omega-41

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

How do you move in Omega-41

I always die in there because of radiation and those what ever they are...mines or something? I've never been able to get around the neutron star without dying. Any tips?

Never been there, but get a high armor ship and as many nanos and batteries money can buy (or as many as your ship can hold).

Dark Helmet: How many A**holes we got on this ship anyhow?
Almost all of crew: YO!
Dark Helmet: I knew it! I'm surrounded by A**holes! (Lowers visor and in Darth Vader tone of voice) KEEP FIRING, A**HOLES!!!

I'm a disco bandit. Are you?

Try to be friendly with the Corsairs, so you can land at either base, and don't stay out any longer than you have to.

I think Corsairs are one of the greatest factions to be allies with. Them and Outcasts. But Corsairs more, everyone runs from them, almost.

What ship do you have, and whats your status with corsairs?

Post Mon Apr 12, 2004 3:43 pm

The mines only occupy patches of Omega-41. I can't remember the coordinates, but I remember where they are in relation to the jump holes and stations. If you familiarise yourself with the system, you'll learn to avoid them too. And the only time I had problems with the radiation was the first time I played the game and was exploring it, still occupying my little Anubis. What ship do you have? If all you're doing is exploring right now, I suggest you trade up for a Titan. Don't shout at me, I don't like it for combat either, but for exploration it's ideal; all that extra armour pays dividends in highly-radioactive areas.

I highly recommend taking a starflier into Omega-41. Get a stop watch and see how many secodns it takes before it explodes.

When I first visited there I had Falcon. So I got tired flying there and went to Omicron Gamma through Sigmas -> Omicron Theta, that was nicer. Then I bought a titan and came back.

Not really relating to this topic but I have a neutral rep. with Corsairs so I was able to buy the ship but not any lvl9 weapons. It says I need to be in more friendlier terms to purchase them. So what I did, I played a lot of missions killing Hessians or whatever they are and Mollys. Even went to their bases shooting and killing but my reputation didn't grow than for like 2-3 bars, it's now slightly in the positive direction. How much rep. do I need to be friendly enough with them to buy all the weapons and which would be the best way, bribing? Thanks!

try killing a shed load of gmg you will end up friendly with hessians corsairs and outcasts and hopefilly still neutral with bh

there is a better thing you can do.
i dont know if you like it.
cheat.
go to the file prefoptions.ini in my documents / my games.
change the following line

DIFFICULTY_SCALE = 1.00

to

DIFFICULTY_SCALE = 0.00.

it will make you invincible. the following code makes your enemies weapons have zero effect {including mines and other kinds of radiation}.

lol!!!!!!

back up your file b4 editing.

There's nothing on the other side of Omega 41 that you can't reach just as easily from the Sigma system cluster - go there instead for a way into the Omicron systems. Ships are also less powerful up there

If you are close enough that the Neutron Star no longer shows up as "Unknown Planet" then you are too close!

Also, you can fly up and over the minefield.
