Help!!!!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

you think you can do it well? Try this . . .we had a clan race one time through the race track, we took as many memebers as we could string together in HUMPBACKS and flew them through the track, only a few finished as parts of the track were just to tight for those whales.

first time through the game i was there with a clysedale and i won, but barely, he was in front of my until the last quarter of the race when i overtook him.
My advice: buy the cavalier at the hood and use that, once you finish that mission, decline that next, go and get a crusader and do the next mission

The Race is easy. I won it my first time in a Crusader. I've won it with every fighter in the game, even a Titan, and i'm an old guy.

1st post

I've been able to win the race almost everytime. (except if I take a turn too tight and scrape the ring... they don't bend like slalom poles ...ding....outta the race... ) One of the things I've found out is to use the strafe keys while turning. Turn right, use strafe left key...opposite for turning left. By doing so you can turn tighter and there are some tight turns in that race. It also helps a lot in dogfights when I want to turn tight without cutting my engines. btw, turning and strafe the same direction allows for a wider turn of which the only use I've found is to suddenly vary the radius of the turn in a dogfight if you've got somebody on your 6. Helps a lot with the heavier fighters...never tried it in a freighter yet though.

I've beaten that race twice now: both times in a Cavalier. The trick to it is to use your strafe keys, but also to look ahead of the gate you're about to pass through. If you can tell which gate will be your next objective, hug the side of the gate that you are going through: that way you can make a quick turn towards your next objective, also cutting off Hovis and forcing him to the outside.

I think it's easier in a light fighter: I tried it in a Defender, but couldn't turn as quickly (not to mention the wingspan, which kept colliding with the gates because I was in too close). A narrower profile of your ship translates into closer "shaves" with the gates.

the race is easy, at some point he purposely screws up for you to win. all you hgave to do is keep up until he does that.

and not getting killed by his minions.

Th art lies in not getting caught.

the basic thing is that hovis just blows his gasket towards the last 2 rings and comes to zero and he lets you win......
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

.....Yeah..... The stupid !!!IDIOT !!! is too d@mn easy to race against... but last time, loooooong before I joined TLR, I was just a nOOb piloting a Clydesdale.. and I kept crashing into the rings (not that I was a very good pilot then).....
