Story Line Quirks

FL story line quirks.

Anybody else scratching his/her head over some of the story that doesn’t quite make sense? Here are some of my favorite quirks.

As you fly to Leeds to meet Tobias, in the time it takes you to reach the Leeds Docking Ring Juni somehow manages to fly to Manchester, New London and Cambridge and dig up information.

The Dom Kavash were a highly advanced civilization that recorded important information on parchment scrolls. Guess they didn’t trust computers.

Escaping from the dig site on Planet Sprague, Dr. Sinclair makes it out first but you never see her take off.

The two Rheinland deserters destroy the Battleship Wotan by firing only four torpedoes (maybe they were Sunslayers).

When Trent, Juni, Sinclair and Quintaine fly directly from Leeds to Stokes Mining Station and the Tau 31 jump gate, Tobias somehow has enough time to contact his old wingmen and catch up with the action.

In the corridor inside Tekagi’s Arch, Ozu fires two shots but three guards go down.

Botzler, the head of the Bundschuh rebels, blows up seven Nomad battleships in a suicide attack but we never find out how he did it.

When the Nomads are defeated, you can clearly see Von Claussen’s Valkyrie flying alongside you but the mission log says he was missing after the battle.

after you destroy the liberty rogue base in the debris field, if you head to ft bush instead of pittsburgh, king pops up on your list as LSF-King (neutral)

Actually, the Rheinlanders were carrying Starkillers. Probably because you can't buy them yet. Also, after the Donau is destroyed, if you scan the Anubises, you can see they aren't carrying any type of missile at all.

Here's another one I forgot. In the bar in Cambridge, you learn that Dr. Sinclair is on Planet Sprague but can’t be contacted because “it’s too far out.” Sprague is one system away in Omega 3. But Juni can somehow call Trent from seemingly anywhere.

This one might be due to my dodgy modding, but in the scene with the Artifact on Toledo, Sinclair is invisible

People say "Trent, we have to go faster, engage your cruise engines" even when you're using a modded thruster that propels you at something like 500

no matter what ship you launch from NY in mission 1, with no matter what weapons. you always appear as a starflier with 2 Justice Mk1 on the sides.

King flies an Anubis in the nomad lair yet you see him land in a patriot at Toledo.

Walker's ship blows up about 2K BEFORE the ships in Alaska, and yet the dissipated fireball still has enough potential to take out 2 liberty dreadnoughts.

No matter what ship you fly off from Toledo in the last mission, only one engine will be on. and it will be glowing blue. Same applies with the NPCs in that cutscene



Small things entertain small minds, while smaller minds look on in wonder.

Also, if you look in your cargo hold during the last mission, there is no item named "Artifact" or something like that.

also, if you are modding with a fast thruster, like 5 or 6 hundred, any ships from the storyline (juni, king, etc) can keep up with u!

Orillion: So trent, will you help us with the mission?

Trent: Sure, as long as I'm not shot at, knocked out, held at gunpoint, electrocuted, skewered alive by giant alien shapeshifters, have to dive out windows, or fight off spindly nomad incubi.

No one's accents match the area they are from ('cept maybe Hakkera)

When fighting in the Tekagi's transport mission i killed a fighter with last name Takagi.

When Tekagi throws the knife into Ozu, the handle on the knife goes through his body.

When using a mod (to my knowledge this wasn't part of the mod) Trent showed up in an LSF uniform... freaky.

and rheinlands and kusari's armada haven't any CD with them..

before and after Dublin mission..
where that abandon mining depot?..

battleship Wotan had been hit at her body..
but why first explosive came from other part?..

Just one more. In Mission 2 King fires a CD at Ashcroft but, earlier, when leaving Manhattan you see that he has no CD launcher mounted. He also fires it when Ashcroft is at least 5K away.

I'm not sure if this is a quirk persay, but it tells you how to tractor in loot during the fight with the Order as you start Mission 1 with King, but then they make a big deal about putting a tractor beam on your ship before the mission to retrieve Ashcroft.

From mission 12 onwards, Juni's ship has an Anubis engine
