anubis

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Not only can those ships proceed through the gas clouds at cruise speed (try putting it into MANUAL and you can move a little easier), but you don't actually need to dodge them too much -- the gas clouds do so little damage to class 10 shields that you can aim at them and not need to use batteries too often. An Anubis would have to slow down just to be safe -- it wouldn't take too many hits.

And the Anubis isn't the only thing named after an Egyptian god -- so's the Osiris, named after the god of the underworld and judgement. I think that the Order has some sort of fascination with them.

Gas clouds aren't dangerous unless you sit right in one and stay there a while. Even with a Starflier or Patriot, I've never had to even touch the shield battery key going through a gas pocket. Mines are far more deadly.

There's a big Egyptian theme in Libery space, for some odd reason. Take a look at their base interiors (Battleships and planets, anyway). Considering the background of the people in that house, one would expect more of a Native American theme, or perhaps (as in the "official" Liberty ship designs) some kind of neo-patriotic thing. :/

well, in sigma 13 or 17, wherever the gas pockets are, you can't really see them so well in cruise mode.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

turn ur map on patrol patches, where no lines are in sigma-13, but around that place is are gas-pocket fields...

I also forgot about the Thoth weapons, BTW -- I think they're of Liberty Rogue design.

The real point of the anubis is that its the best fighter you can get in the SP campaign. It may be useless afterwards, but its certainly a good jumping off point toward getting a true VHF. I flew against the Hessians in Omega 41 with an anubis with (almost) no trouble. It is certainly a good ship.

hessians.... their u call bad pilots... even a semi-n00b can kill them in a lower fighter...

i killed hunters in the edge worlds with a defender... even in a dagger... however it is better to have the defender for larger trafeling distances

the anubis is a very good fighter, it has 7 forward firering barrels, with is also by the sabre, only can turn faster and kill the sabre easy by that... the class 6 shield you get with it is a great shield also, the weaps can be better, but isn't needable in the beginning, only in the edge worlds... however the plasma rifles are great (don't know the name anymore on the osiris, and if they sell them in an cheaper outload then the normal class 6 and lower leveled classes)
