Best Missle

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Best Missle

Okay I got the firestalker missle, and suffice to say it's awesome. Finally a missile that is not a miss-ile! And I'm wondering if there's anything else out there that's similar or even more powerful.

While on the subject let me shoot another one too, what's the most powerful mine available out there?

Thx

If you go into the spoiler forum look under the one labeled all weaps, shields. It will give you the base stats on every missle/mine/gun/shield in the game. This question has been answered hundreds of times before.

I have no problems with missiles. Hell, I use Slingshots on my Dagger and they hit 90% of the time. It'd be 100% but I make really stupid shots sometimes. If your missiles don't hit, you're not using them properly.

Nope missile guidance is pretty poor in this game, at least at low level. And for their price they don't even do that much damage.

However torpedo rocks! I blew up so many ships with that, including mine -_-x

If you are playing Open SP, you can mod any missile with the lock on ability to make sure all hit their target. Check the General edit forum for a lot of Ideas.

The guidance may be poor, but if you use them in the right situations, I guarantee at least a 95% hit rate.

I still perfer torps go into a dogfight fire guns and at last second fire the torp and watch them get dumber..then deader.

Torps are pretty pathetic. They take up ur Cruise Disrupter Slot when that is wayyyyyyyy more powerful than a sunslayer (Not obvious). I almost never use torps.

For missiles, I use the lancer. Its cheap, and strong. I would use the cannonball as it always 100% gurantees a one-hit-death but it drains my cash too fast.

The Eagle is the best!!!

Oh, wait, this isn't about ships

Ok, I say CB mssile, you just gotta know when to fire them

And I use CM's rather then Torps. Torps against players or AI ships suck, well, for me anyway, while CM's are a tactical advantage.
Being chased by someone who's got like 50 CM's is scary...

Edit: Damn spelling.

i use also non-stalker missiles on my dagger (a slingshot and a sweeper missile)

i can kill a dagger in 1 pass. and the hornet is always their for runners

According to the new Bounty Hunter's Explosive Friends Magazine (Yeah, I made it up ), the only equivilent so far as damage statistics are concerned to the Firestalker is the Cannonball, mentioned here already. Although generally, I don't bother with missiles. Between my four Reaver Mk2s, two Reaver Mk1s, my Buckshot turret for emergencies, and my trusty Hornet CD, I'm happy without missiles.

I always keep one cball launcher mounted in case I get a good opportunity to use it, usually as a finisher

You gotta admit though, a Starkiller or Lancer is a convenient way to finish off wounded opponents.

The guy also asked what the most powerful mine was -- I didn't notice for some reason.
Anyway, as you know, there are two types of mine -- homing and drone.
The most powerful homing mine available is the Ripper Mine. It's also the most expensive around, lol.
The most powerful drone mine is a Screamer, a good 35,000 credits cheaper

Most missiles, no matter what you pay for them won't hit anything unless you're at point blank range (with the exception of CD's). In short, cannonballs are the best. Firestalkers don't do enough damage to be worth the cash for them in my opinion. Save your money for cruise disruptors... although those have their drawbacks too. I was looting wrecks in Omicron Alpha one time with the disruptor (it was my weakest weapon on board at the time, so as not to destroy loot). Anyway an outcast Sabre flys in front of the missile AFTER i shoot it... good thing i invested in a good shield.
