Cruise Disruptor or Torpedo?

Cruise Disruptor or Torpedo?

Should I mount a Cruise Disruptor or a Sunslayer Torpedo? My weapon loadout (on a Sabre) is 2*Wyrm Type 2, 4*Nomad Energy Blaster, 1*Adv. Debilitator Turret.

Sunslayer Torpedo can:
1. Kill any unshielded ship in one hit, and it's easy to hit if fired correctly.

Hornet Cruise Disruptor can:
2. Stop an enemy from cruising away (like in an NPC assassination mission, when the target runs towards reinforcements).
3. Easily kill a ship that has no shields and only a few hundred hull points left.
4. Be fired before real missiles in PVP as a counter-countermeasure.
5. Be used to detonate an enemy's torpedo in his face in PVP.

I'm leaning towards the Sunslayer Torpedo, because if I kill the enemy fast with a torpedo he won't get to run away (as in #2), and I don't really PVP.

Same. I stick with light fighters, so agile, if u're skilled its great. I stick with the cd.

I say go for the cruise disrupter. The torpeodes are so slow its hard to hit anything, plus the fact each one costs so much for not getting much out of them.

I just use torpedoes. I never use CruiseDisruptors (I have yet to meet anyone that survives combat with me long enough to escape).
Also, I love torpedoes because of the fact that thay're ridiculous overkill.

In my opinion you only need torpedos in lower ships, as fun as they are!!

If you have a sabre then it would take a lot of AI to kill you, you have the upper hand so you dont need sunslayers, i only use them in lower classed ships when u need to take the enemy out real quick.

the way i see it, sunslayers are fun, and essential for PvP, but in terms of AI i think the cruise disrupter will be more use to you.

I use CD if the ship I'm in allows it, when I'm mining rouges/junkers/xenos or admining on my server

I use Torpedo's for PvP but use Star killers as Sunslayers can = a suicide if lag hits during a fight. If you fight someone using all coded weapons they have the advantage during the first pass so you have to equal that out with torp's

I have a Sabre with:

4x Nomad Energy Cannon
2x Wrym Type 2
1x Screamer Mine
1x Salamanca Turret

I choose between the Wasp and the Sunslayer depending on what im doing... I generally keep both on hand. If I am just cruising through systems from place to place i use the cruise disruptor cause it really helps in impulsive looting. I only mount the sunslayer before particularly tough missions to get an extra edge vs VHFs, which is only needed rarely, as fun as it is. Otherwise its difficult to justify the huge cost of sunslayer ammo.

I use CD because I frequently switch between LFs and HFs/VHFs, and I don't want to keep re-buying torpedo/CD launchers or carrying extra equipment.

if you are pvp the torp every time
if its for missions go for a disruptor but make it a wasp as the hornet ammo is too expensive and i find 4 or 5 wasps are better than 1 hornet anyway

Cruise disruptors are also good for looting wrecks... One of them leaves no chance of damaging that precious class 10 gun... plus the wasps are fairly economical. And almost never miss.

i prefer CD for missions, as sometimes the wimps cruise off, but i keep a sunslayer on board for base destruction and PvP, so keep both on board, and just switch if necessary!
