Best Equip for a Humback?
If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I'm tired of my Dromedary, it's just a heavy fighter with large cargo, and it's getting boring. I want to have something with the looks and handling of a freighter, and the answer is the Humpback. The only problem is, I don't know how to equip one very well, any suggestions?
Well, the Humpback is actually 6/7 and I'm aware that the Drom has more cargo and is more manuverable, but I believe the 275 cargo was a mistake, so I wish to use a the Rhineland ship. And you're upgrading of equipment doesn't work in my situation, as 1) I didnt use Sunblasts at all 2) THe Adv. Debilitator turret is class 8, out of the Humpbacks reach. Now, could I please have some sort of useful suggestion?
If I wanted to PVP, I'd get a Nomad Spammer or a Drake, I'm not asking for your opinion on my ship choice, I'm asking for a weapons configuration. I dislike your Debillitator and Skyblast set up, because the speed isnt exactly on par, as my last Drom set up was. I was expecting something a bit more varied.
If you want to have something with the looks and handling of a freighter then I suppose you don't want to fight, right? That's okay. Because there is no way that the Humpback is a fighting ship. You would hardly ever use the guns, even if you could see a target, becaue that invites retaliation. But you have GOT to get the very best sheild that can be mounted on it (class 7 from Ainu, I think) AND you have GOT to get neutral or friendly with as many factions as you can. (So why would you need the BEST weapons for it?) As a matter of fact, I fly my Humpback with no weapons at all (except mines)! I keep Adv. Countermeasure Dropper on all the time, just in case of cruise disruptors. My rep is hostile ONLY with Mollys, Xenos, Corsairs and Hogosha. And I hope to pay bribes to all of them soon and see if I can get friendly or neutral with everybody (if that is possible).
So right now I have an abundance of planets and bases to visit and trade with and make MO MONEY! (Then, when you are a gazillionaire, you can go buy a Titan and fight if you want to.)

I ask for an equip set up, then have to explain myself? Ok. I have a Drom, perfectly equipped. Everyone is neutral with me. The point? I have 7 million cash, want a decent freighter, had Nomad Spammers, and already have a Hammerhead and Drake on different accounts. Now, I want the perfect Humpback, is that a crime?
Only in Taiwan, and possibly Canada...
I prefer rate of fire over power and I like keeping the whole look of the Houses so my Humpback is equipped with Stealhblade turrets, and it suits everything I do just fine. You may want to try out laser based turrets because you just want to lay down enough cover fire to make an escape. Hornviper Turrets might also be a good choice but the look of thier projectiles keeps reminding me of fungus tadpoles. Firecurse turrets are lvl eight aren't they?.
Sorry i can't be more exacting but I'm not real great on the stats and names of turrets, just make sure thier projectile speeds match and all should be fine no matter what you decide to mount.
Attack, Engage, Destroy, Survive

I agree with Kheiron. Stealthblades are the way to go. There might be a better configuration on the ship info thread. It's very useful.
PS.ARE YOU INSANE??!!!! What kind of a lunatic wants to fly a Humpback. I had once. Handles like a bloody snail on morpheine. If you get one, please email me the video of you getting creamed by starfliers with Justice Mk1s.
That way I can laugh my head off while you make your doomed attempts to hit them with your ****e turrets.
I'm making record time!
If only I had someplace to be...

@Corsair#01
If you call someone who flies a Humpback insane, call me the most insanely best pilot in the colonies. After modding FL a bit (only putting the Humpback on Manhattan and changing it's price to 0{literally}, no equipment changed), I bought it and put Justice Mk I turrets on. After that, I blew up Order ships, Rouge Bloodhounds and their weapon platforms and I did not have to use a single shield battery. What do you think

Buy Stealthblade Mk 2 turrets and guns. They are the best RHeinland weapons but may be overkill in Liberty. By the way, why do you have repeated messages to yourself?
Dark Helmet: Gimme that, you petty excuse of an officer!
Now hear this: LUDICROUS SPEED!!!
Col. Sanders: Sir, hadn't you better buckle up?
Dark Helmet: Eh, buckle this! Ludicrous speed...GO!!!

he has repeated messages to himself because he is insane (he flies a humpback ) he's arguing with that little vioce inside that says not to get a humpback...

Trent: Sure, as long as I'm not shot at, knocked out, held at gunpoint, electrocuted, skewered alive by giant alien shapeshifters, have to dive out windows, or fight off spindly nomad incubi.

Because of how the pirates seem to hate my guts (despite hunting the Xenos around Pueblo Station), I actually started using an Anubis as a merchant vessel.
It's got more cargo room than comparable fighters, is well-equipped (I left the armament/shielding on board from the end of the storyline campaign), and it's cheap (only $1,100 on board the Osiris). With a single cargo run to Ainu Depot I doubled the amount of money I had. Besides, who can beat flexibility? I took on 2 or 3 missions with the Blood Dragons once I made it to Ainu, then took on a cargo and beat feet out of Kusari space. All without selling/buying ships.
If you want to start talking about a Humpback, it depends on where you'll be using it. Certain weapons are attuned for maximum damage against certain shields. Yet the same isn't true of mines. (Be sure to get one that generates a significant amount of hull damage.) You might also consider mounting a missile launcher on one of the gun mounts. I did that, and it generated one heck of a surprise every time a pirate tried to come up along my flank and pound me at point-blank range.
