thats an interesting game balance... avoid flying thru rheinland for 10 more minutes, and open up a ridiculous profit for after game...

medium run - lux cons goods from manhattan to new london, lux food on the way back... 400-500k profit in a drom

Near the game's beginning, a good run is Lux Consumer Goods from Manhattan to Ainu Depot in Hokkaido, then take Cardamine back to Manhattan. One round trip should get you from a Rhino to a Kusari freighter (can't remember the stinkin' name, lol), then a couple more and you can get anything. Fairly long, but I believe you can do New Tokyo-Hokkaido as well, shorter run, less profit. Do it early though, or else Ainu will be hostile (it's owned by the GC).

The Kusari freighter is the Drone.

And a nice run little run is the old diamond run with a twist. Instead of going to NB take the Frankfurt-->Dresdan JH and the sell Nibium on the last station along the tradelane(I hardly enter Dresdan so I don't really know the station names there.). Then buy diamonds(or mine them) from the station right by the JH. The Diamonds are cheaper and the Niobium sells for over 1600 I believe.

Well, this is about a 15 min route. Get lux consumer goods from manhatten and go to ainu depot, hokaido. I dont really know the coordinates, but FL datastorm should tell you. Its on the eastern side of hokkaido. North of the kyushu j-hole. You get about 1400 profit for each. The load up with cardamine and head back to manhaten to get about 1200 profit each. Fly in a drone or above, and get rich in 1 hour or less.

This one's tricky, but loads of fun if you can pull it off. You've got to have a good rep with Red Hessians and Bretonia Police, and it doesn't hurt to be in good with Corsairs, too:
Buy Diamonds at Ronneburg Base in Omega-5. Fly OVER the minefield (it's a 3-D game, you don't have to go AROUND) to the Cambridge jump hole. Deliver Diamonds to Planet Cambridge for $681/unit profit.
Pick up Pharmacuticals from Cambridge and bring them back to Ronneburg Base ($263/unit profit). Repeat until bored and rich.

...and I'm gonna kill, kill, kill, until the killing's done!

Lancer Pilot- someone already mentioned that. A good trade route is to take diamond from Ronneburg to Cadiz.

ShiftViper 5, mine's not dangerous if you are neutral to the following: Corsairs, Hackers, GC, Blood Dragons, Outcasts. All lawful people recommend be neutral or better. You CAN do it without an attack. I have.
I know that, but it takes some effort, and it's hard to keep it that way if you ever do missions. I just find it more convenient to find a route where you will be neutral with the locals for a long time.

I happen to like the Cardamine run from Mactan base to Planet Manhattan. Double your money every flip, it's a pretty short run also.

Try going through Bretonia space. I've never had any major problems. Sure there's the local riff-raff but they can be defeated easily since it's pretty much just Bloodhounds with a few Wolfhounds trown in for fun. And the cops won't try to take your stuff.

The main problem with the route is the Outcasts in Tau-31. No prob' if your neutral or friendly 'cause their not interested in Trade Lane parts.

The route through Bretonia is a little longer than through Kusari unless you take the avalible shortcuts. Shortcut route as follows: Colorado > New York > Magellan(via the secret jumpgate) > Leeds(via the jump hole) > Tau-31 > Tau-23. Piece o' cake. Lane Hackers are easy to get past if your not friendly.

Can't get the shortcuts (secret jumpgate/hole) to work in MP though. If someone figures it out please speak up.

Personally, my favorite way of making money around mid-game SP was shipping light-arms from Planet Leeds, Leeds -> Montezuma Base, Cortez. It's a VERY short trip via jumpholes and if you're friends with Outcasts and Liberty Rogues (and Lane Hackers if you want) then it becomes possibly the safest, short, 350 profit-per-run trip. All you have to worry about is a minor encounter with Gaians or Molly's as you come out of the Magellan->Leeds jumphole, but Planet Leeds is so close by, that you aren't in danger for very long. I made over a million credits this way in short order, only shortly after arriving at Leeds for the first time.

How about you try to ship h-fuel from shefeild station, manchester to planet curacao for 200 each profit, then un dock and head to planet Los Angeles, load up with boron and sell it to shefield station for about 500 each profit or so. You dont't have to do the planet curacao run but its on the way heading for Los Angeles, so i might as well make some profit.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Um... Nomad weapons are a little off-topic, but I'll give you a hint: find the only places where the Nomads hang out after you've finished the campaign, and take their weapons from them.

Anyway. Isn't there a fairly good route between Deshima station, Shikoku and Mactan Base, Magellan? Trading engine components I believe -- though I'm not sure what it is that's profitable to take back, I am sure that there is something. Not enourmously profitable, but if you're neutral with the folks who haunt the various sectors between the two points, or in MP have a fighter escort, it's fairly short and fairly simple. It's especially good if you're only in a ship with minimal defensive capabilities and haven't really explored the Independant and Border Worlds. And there are trade routes nearly the whole way.

I forget the $/unit/round trip, but if I remember right you can get in good w/ GC and Interspace w/ out ticking off Kusari police, thusly in a armored transport ( yes, in a mod) you can make about 3-400,000 per rt. figure about 2-300,000 ina drom. all w/ very little hassle from pirates or cops.

If I'm not here accepting the things I cannot change, I'm off somewhere ranting and raving about not being God.
