Ive never actually tried to find FP7. What are you going to do, have a moments silence?

You are all wrong, the FP7 system was created in a seperate system for the sole purpose of the intro scene. Unless you used a mod, there is no way to reach it. I know this because I have been through the FP7 ini files. There is no jumphole or jumpgate anywhere in that system. This is also the case with Omicron Major and Omicron Minor.

There is no FP7 wreckage in Sigma-17, I've checked it out and it looks nothing like FP7.

Bom's Omega-47 system is just bogus, there is no Omega-47 system in the original files.

And we know the crap about the ini files and all. Storywise FP7 was in Sigma 17 before it blew up.
