You must be neutral with the Rogues, but unless you lucky, you'll need to be neutral with Outcasts too. After you reach level 4 (not sure which mission), you can get the Dagger on Buffalo Base in the Badlands.

It's trying to dock with buffalo when you're still bad with Hackers and Outcasts what is the hard part

Hackers don't go to Buffalo, do they? Or at least, I don't remember them being there. They're easier to get neutral with than rogues anyways.

Well, not 100% sure, but pretty, yes

why the hell would you want to do the whole thing in a dagger? they are crap compared to other fighters, especially when you have access to heavy fighters (except the defender lol, that totally sucks)

Really I've done 245k missions in Daggers, Patriots, Starfliers, Drakes. The dagger is a fine ship and more than adequate for the SP game.

u can get the defender just before the mission with u do in colorado (so u have big change to get the alien artefacts out off the patriot (done that already with it )
u can get the dagger just before the mission what starts in california... (but getting good with them is a little problematic at that point, but is doable) and otherwhise u will land their later also in the campaign

There is a turret mount on the defender if I remember correctly. And it's smaal and agile. I never flown a Dagger, but I find it hard to fight against daggers.
I think the dagger is a good ship.

there is a difference between flying a ship and flying against one
2 examples 1 the liberty navy defender try fighting them in some of the areas a bit further out from NY and scan them they carry a lot more firepower than the one you can buy
2 the hammerhead (yes i do like them) still i would always pick an eagle over one of them . they are not as tough or well armed as an eagle but if i have to decide which to fight i find the hammerhead harder to kill than gmg eagles
the reverse of player controled ships of the same class

do first a mission against hunters from malta and after that the same mission against GMG from ruiz base in a dagger...

the missions against GMG is harder

If you find that the ship you're in flies like a 20th century garbage truck, then here is how to fix that: SLOW DOWN. Yes, you'll come under heavier fire, but the reduced speed will give you a MUCH tighter turning radius and a faster turn rate.

I've done the whole campaign in a dagger. The later missions against the nomads are tough in it. I used the IONCROSS Character Editor to get the dagger from the beginning. If you don't want to do that you can buy it after Mission 2. There are no Hackers at Buffalo, only Rogues and Outcasts.

@richard7254, i don't know whith was mission 2 again... but i know that when u must fly to california system to meet her, u can buy the dagger...
