I beat it in a defender. By the way, any mods that allow you to have races against computer or human opponents? Going back to the save game and whipping Hovis gets boring after a while. --- RR16

whoever came up with "Mission Commisoin" should be lined up and shot

I finally beat Hovis. After that, I just loaded Hovishack and you always win. It works a little strange, so bear with it - it will appear you won, but as you fly back to Hood you have to do it again, you lose this time, but then when you load the autosave, you fly back to Hood and you won.

Whats so hard about this race? As long as you stay on track you can usually beat him. I did it in the bounty hunter ship that looks like a fish.
