you gotta be friends with the zoners, there is a bribe at douglas station in omega 3, d6, it's owned by the BMM, here are some others:

and how on earth are you not friendly with the zoners unless you attack their ships? they have no allies OR enemies... zoners are about the only people im friendly with - them and the red hessians (still gotta find corsair bribe)

Believe it or not you can get unfriendly with the Zoners without shooting Zoner ships. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but almost every game/server I'm in I'm neutral or less with the Zoners, and I never shoot them.

Freelancer Myth #47: The Zoners have no allies.

In fact, the Zoners DO have allies. These factions all have nonzero positive empathy with the Zoners: Bounty Hunters, GMG, IMG, Lane Hackers, Unioners, Xenos. Killing any of those ships will indeed decrease your reputation with the Zoners slightly. It's all small values - it takes 80 Xeno or 33 GMG/IMG/Unioner kills to move your Zoner reputation by one box - but the link does indeed exist.

Zoners are pretty insignificant apart from selling the Eagle.
