That's kinda difficult with the Search function being temporarily disabled . Please, if you can help, make an exception and help the newbie just this one time .

well, i did it in the bret heavy fighter, and i did it in 2 tries, basically, activate your cruise engines, and keep looking ahead at the next gate, also, sell all your cargo (NOT guns) before hand, the ship will handle better.

Yup - basically don't race in a freighter, and just immeditately engage the cruise engines. Once active - just concentrate on steering through the hoops. You should be able to handle it without too many probs at that point. Just use the mouse to steer as well - so make sure its on freepoint, and not on click-drag to move intsead.

y not race in a freighter? i did it in a Clydesdale!

Turn your graphics settings all the way down. The lower they are, the faster your ship responds. And never, ever, ever use the goto command.

At the start hit afterburner and immediately engage your cruise engine. Free cruising, not goto. then just cut the gate corners, you should be fine.

I don't know HOW you people have so many problems with this part of the game.

First of all, if you're having problems, maybe it's your ship. If you're good then you can do it with a freighter (I did it with a Dromedary), but if you're not so good, you might want to get a light fighter (ever think WHY the Cavalier was sold on Battleship Hood?). As soon as you can, hit the cruise engines. Unless you have lightning reflexes, you should be just behind Hovis (I got ahead once at the beginning. I'm so proud.). Keep to the inside of the rings and be careful not to hit them. Near the end, Hovis will mess up and slow down. Fly past him and finish the race.

Never, ever, attack Hovis or turn off your cruise engines. Cruise disruptors will not help you. Mines will not help you. Guns will not help you.

The Light Fighters (specifically the patriot and the drake) are very easy to win with. The Heavy fighters are a bit tougher and the freighters leave little room for error. If it is laggy, reduce your performance settings. If this doesn't help you, I don't know what will.

ok, just want to let everyone know, that after picking up a Dromedary and flying around the galaxie for a little while makeing some creds and seeing a little of whats out in the systems, I picked up a Drake and headed back to see Horn, and after 3 lost race's in the drake, I got the idea to use the camara view from inside of the ship, well that did it, I now have won the race, and I'm getting alone in the game now, thanks for everyones help

I've won this in an Anubis and a Centurion. There is only one bad spot. One gate is a sharp turn to the left a little past the halfway point. Remember where it is and be ready for it.

ok it's easy. bye a crusader(bretonia heay fighter) and race make sure ure in mouse flight! target each ring and either but the cursorright in the middle OR use got to. try it (money back gurantee!!!)

set the cruise key in single button for ease it,
