What a totally S**T ending

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

What a totally S**T ending

Considering the strength of the SP campaign storyline, wtf happened to the ending? Someone pulled the plug out the bath, and off swirled all the Nomads, like all load of floating turds down the plughole, off to the sea. PATHETIC.

I'm so disappointed. What's Microsoft's problem? Just because the game is over, it's ok to finish off with a totally lame ending? If the storyline had been poor, I'd have expected a rubbish ending, but considering how engaging the plot was, I just can't believe how they've spoilt everything with such a poor, brainless, lazy and totally unsatisfying end to the single player campaign.

Actually I doubt MS has anything to do with story. They don't make the game, they just fund the production, publish the game, and take care of the marketing. They have minimal, if any, creative control. If you're so disappointed with the ending, take it up with DA.

Yeah, yeah........DA, Microsoft, whatever!

Still, a really unfulfilling ending............

I don't think the ending was so bad. It's an open story. Like real life, there is no ending, well, unless you die.

Life: No one gets out alive.

The ending was awful........no explanation of the enemy, not contact, curt ending..........very poor........

I had only one problem with the ending: Everything goes back to the way it was after you defeat the Nomads. There isn't so much as a news headline that mentions your glorious victory, when the war nearly caused the collapse of all the major houses. You could at least expect some stories in the news and congrats in the bar for a certain time after the end of sp(say 10 hrs of gameplay or so). It's kinda like everyone just forgot the whole thing happened, except for you...if I had to change anything, I'd put in a news article in every base's bar where the Osiris, flanked by several squadrons of Anub- (damn, what IS the plural for that? Anubii? Anubises? Anubice?) parades through Sirius or something.

I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.

Remember it was a "Second Level" secret war, the average Joe wasn't meant to know about it, I played through the SP game and gleaned that from it, some of the it I am disappointed in. I would love to be able to fly around the Nomad sphere, and even if all it was a secret, they could still provide you with a nice ship and a pack of cash, but on the whole I understand it.

The Order is a secret faction, its not meant to be known about.

Anyone who has watched Evangelion through-and-through are gonna go "wtf?" was it unsatisfactory? yes. Was it one of the finest anime ever? definitely. We are too obsessed with the concept of closure, not realizing that it's not real.

Evas original ending was an amazing end to the series and definatly more enjoyable than End of Eva.

If you do not understand the original ending you missed the point of the anime.

What is that supposed to mean? Surely this forum *IS* for expressing opinions even if over zealous moderators don't like what you have to say!? You sound like an overprotective mother who's just heard someone criticising one of her kids !!

Don't get me wrong, I've really enjoyed the game. I've just completed the SP campaign and have already notched up 110 hours gameplay. It's just a rushed ending with all the Nomads swirled off down a plughole just was a real letdown! Why would opening a hypergate cause that to happen?! Whoooosh!

Surely, after an engaging and interesting plot, the game deserved an equally deserving ending, especially considering the fact that a sequel might never happen.

@cupid calm down man, I think that stinger was referring to the tone of your rant more than your opinion. No one likes a ranter.

But you did raise a very good issue - an issue that has been debated furiously on these forums in the past. I suggest you do a search and you'll spring up a whole loada threads to do with this.

Personally I don't think the ending was lame. As mentioned previously, its supposed to be realistic, life moves on. My only issue with the ending was that pathetic graphic of the nomad homeworld. Reaaaaallly poor. You go from intense high res graphics to something that looks like it was knocked up on a commodore 64 for the finale. Crap is an understatement.

But IMO the story was good, I was just glad it was over so that I could crack on with the real balls of the game.

@NukeIt - I believe Anubi would be the correct plural

And in respect to some of the comments on how the war was secret, I must say it had to be kept secret. People do not trust politicians as much as they used to today. Imagine how much trust would be left if the public found out that aliens had at least temporarily taken over the government.
