I would think the bounty hunter ships would be great for rammings, at least thier HF and VHF with those prong type things sticking out front.

You mean that you ram ships? Whoa, All of my friends that play freelancer call that n00b charging when you fire and try to ram other ships. It can be very effective. Well gotta go get bacon.

Ever play Privateer? In Privateer ramming was very effective. Knock down their shields, then ram whilst your shields were still up. Next thing you were tractoring in their cargo. BEcame one of my favourite attacks.

Does anyone know this?:

Do you do more, less or equal damage when your shields are down?

And does it matter if your enemies' shields are down?

No, I doesn't make a difference. But I don't think you would want to charge someone when your shields are down.
