I have a habit of ramming into ships during head on charges and I've noticed that ramming does very little damage, it takes my shield down by about a square and I can't see any visible damage on the enemies health bars, however it does help you turn around and gives you time to get on your victims tale, provivded you bounch off at a decent angle.

@Kheiron, ever used engine kill with that... i did, just as base-bounce and planet-bounce...

by planet bounce it's adviceable to do that with speed off almost 300, and yes, ur death anyway by doing that... but it's fun to see ur fireball go bounced back trought the docking bay

and i ramm also a few times against other fighters... but i fire mostly missiles at them, so i don't wanna close by the other fighter...

I'm quite convinced that I once destroyed a ship -(a burning wreck by that time ) by ramming that last bit of hull off. I wonder if this is counted as a 'kill' because the target is not destroyed by your weapons fire...

The "kill" is credited to that ship which was last to hit the target... even if the target is a Rheinland battleship and a Starflier just happens to steal its last HP with a laser bolt, the Starflier will be credited with its destruction.

I usually let my Sunslayers do the ramming for me and they are pretty good at it.

OK, NN Crossbow, I understand that the ship that fired the fatal shot gets the frag, but what if there is NO fatal shot and something else kills the ship?
Let's say i destroy a ships shields and then let it go. This ship later crashes into a planet's atmosphere. Do I get the kill because I shot it last, or doesn't anyone get a kill. And how would this be with ramming? If the ramm contributes that fatal bit of damage, is it an official kill or a random death (like crashing into planets/mines?)

I think the damage in ramming is the mass rating of the ship. The Starflier has 150 mass. In the constants.ini, the damage is halfed to 75 damage. This damage is done to you and the enemy.

A friend told me it fairly funny when u r in a titan and decide to charge a newbie in a starflier just coming out of manhattan with cruise engines on, u go through them like a hot knife through butter!

he says they do one of 3 things
1. they try to run away but while they r turning, u still get them anyway.

2. they tried to starfe out of the way which doesnt help because u r going faster then they r anyway.

3. they fire all their guns at u, which is like a mozzie bite on your class 10 shield

but i think these only apply to the type of newbie u just got the game and hasn't done a single sp mission! which in my opion is the most annoying type of newbie there is!

I'm not a coward! I'm a self preservationist!

Hmmm...slashing through ships with my titan? Why didn't I think of that!
But...do you get the kill or not if you ram someone to death?
