How to join Junkers?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Find out who they don't like, and start killing them.

RILMS hit that one on the head.

Its all about reputation, check out their enemies and declare war on them. If any of them attack you in the meantime, run away so it doesn't affect your rep. If you want to speed up the whole thing, find out who their allies are and attack the enemies of the allies too.

With a little practice you should be able to entirely flip around your rep in under an hour. Good Flying!

To give some slightly more specific information...

The Junkers only have one real enemy: the Hogosha. Killing them is your best way to get in good with the Junkers.

The Junkers have slight antipathy for the Xenos and Liberty Police, so killing them also improves your Junker reputation, although much more slowly than killing Hogosha.

@T-Hawk, they have more than slight hate for Xenos, they offer anti-Xeno missions.

After a Junker bribe, I kill Xenos for a better Junker (and just about everybody ) rep.
However, Zoner rep goes down quite fast for killing Xenos, so you need to know your
rep with Zoners, and bribe the Zoners if it gets too negitive.
(Zoners have no enemies, so only can be bribed, but bribe has no negative reactions)

The Junkers do have Xeno antipathy, but it's only a -0.1 multiplier (most antipathy relationships in the game are in the -0.25 to -0.35 range.) Compounding this is the fact that the Xenos themselves don't give much of a reputation change for killing one of them (only 0.08 box while most factions are around 0.30). Multiply those numbers together, and it takes a whopping 119 Xeno kills to improve your Junker reputation by one box. Compare that to 33 Liberty Police kills or about 20 Hogosha kills.

Of course, flying missions for the Junkers themselves against anyone is an easy way to get your reputation up from zero to friendly; you get about 0.65 box per mission plus antipathy from the targets you're killing. Once you get your rep up to neutral to accept missions, that's great, but other measures are necessary to get your reputation up from negative to around zero.

I'm moving it so that you can talk about it more freely

True, we are straying closer to Spoiler...

Actually, according to my sources, Junkers are .1 to both LP and Xenos, but don't offer
anti-LP missions. Even their arch enemy Hogasha is only .2

Frobozz, you are correct, but those numbers don't tell the whole story.

When you kill a Xeno, your *Xeno* reputation changes only a small amount, much less than killing a Liberty Police ship causes your Police rep to change. These numbers are the "Destroy object" values in empathy.ini. These numbers are multiplied by the cross-faction empathy multipliers. Net result: even though the Junkers have the same antipathy ratio (-0.1) for each faction, the absolute numbers are much less for the Xenos.

IOW, the Xenos value the lives of their own much less than the Police value the lives of _their_ own. The Junkers know this, and thus weight your Xeno actions less than the Police actions. You can definitely still kill Xenos to get in good with the Junkers, but it'll take four times as many Xeno kills as police kills, because the police value their own lives four times more than the Xenos do.

So the best way to get in good with the Junkers is most certainly to kill Hogosha, as they have a fairly high (-0.2) negative multiplier with the Xenos, and they don't place such low value on their own lives.

This explains much. Thanks!

A more profitable route is to become friendly with other pirates with whom the Junkers are affiliated, and then fly missions for them out of Rogue or Junker bases.

E.G.: Killing Bounty Hunters is the most rep. friendly way (in terms of collateral rep. damage) to gain confidence with the Outcasts and Liberty Rogues. Once you are on good terms with them, you can will be able to fly missions for them out of Rochester or Buffalo. Many of these missions will involve the destruction of additional Bounty Hunter ships, and hence you will get rep. points with the Junkers for both the individual ships destroyed and for the missions completed for their pirate allies (making money the whole while!!).

Hope this helps.

Who arethe Hogosha?

roryyeung: please, if you have questions post them in a new topic. Don't dg up old threads. This is the third in a row.

And to answer your question, the Hogosha are a paction in Kusari. Kinda like the Junkers.

this is the question i asked on my very first post, over six months ago. It only seems like yesterday. The answer that i got back then was that its all to do with rep and that the hogosha are the people to kill or find a rep hacker

What's the point in living if you can't feel alive?

Heres a way...

Kill as many Bounty Hunters as you can until the red rep bar for Junkers only has one or two red blocks left. Then, fly to one of their bases, and (if you have I think one or less red reputation blocky thingy...) you should be able to fly mission for them, which would raise your rep. Remember, the more friendly a faction is to you, the less it will cost you to have people hack into their account to change the rep.
