Nomad Weapons
If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Bah!! I've spent sooo long in and around the Unknown systems killing nomads I think my heads gonna explode. Where can i get these? Why do nomads NEVER drop them? Or am I better off to zoom off and get some DIAMONDBACKS or CERBERUS guns?
First and foremost, make sure you are above lvl 35. They will not drop weapons period if you're under 32, and the probability of a drop increases with each level Do some missions, make some money, and boost yourself up the ladder. Another tidbit I've heard is that the Unknown system out of Omicron Gamma is better for getting weapons, and it's a more hospitable environment to boot. I've only hunted there, and I can usually collect enough for whatever I'm doing (changing loadout, selling weaps) in a couple hours.
Secondly, how many account holders on the server have nomad weaps? I've heard that there is a soft limit on the number of salvaged nomad wepons available in the game, such that once the limit is reached the drop probability goes way down. It's not impossible to get them in a populated server, but it's much easier on smaller servers.
Third, once you have a couple of nomad guns loaded, killing nomads can be done faster. The less time you spend firing at a target (any ship in the game, really), the more chance you have for an equipment drop. Remember, EVERY piece of equipment that isn't ammo or nanos/batts gets fixed to the outside of the ship. Fire directly at a piece of equipment and you damage it. Damaged pieces stand a far reduced chance of surviving the destruction of the ship. So in summary, kill them as quickly as possible.
Fourth, make sure you're not firing at the explosion. When a nomad is almost dead, fire a shot at a time and make sure it has hit or missed. If you fire through the explosion, chances are really good you'll destroy a pickup, and nomads only drop one item per ship.
Lastly, it will take time. From each group of four, I get an item maybe a quarter of the time (the math works out to about a 1 in 16 chance a particular nomad will drop a gun). They seldom drop two items per group, and I've only gotten three once. If you just can't get them to drop and you're starting to think it's not worth the time, it probably isn't.

Don't forget Class 9 guns. Actually, a Kraken Type 2 or Skyblast B loadout can
perform BETTER than DBACKS for some players. Krakens deal the SAME damage per second
as DBACK but with a Refire Rate of 4 and a faster projectile speed, for LESS ENERGY.

Nomads look like disgusting-electrified squid looking creatures with the heads of squids and without any shields. They blast purple colored stuff that do wicked damage. Like half of your shields or something.
By the way, my choice of class9 weapons would definitely be Tizona Del Cids combo with Nomad Blasters and Cannons. Blasters and Cannons take out the hull along with reduced weapon energy. TIzona takes care of the shields. With 2 Tizonas and 2 rounds of fire, I can take out Class10 shields totally!
