The ends of the earth... I mean universe

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

The ends of the earth... I mean universe

St1ng R4y posted this in another FL forum and I wondered if anyone knew the answer...

What happens if toy fly out farther and farther beyond the edge of the nav map? Can you get to another system?

Umm... it's like 5 lightyears from our system to the other nearest. Somehow I doubt you'll be getting from Sigma to Sigma anytime soon unless if you have a few years on your hands to be playing lol.

You just keep going and going and going, all that is different is an arrow appears on the edge of the Nav map that tells you your off the screen. But I dont think you can fly from system to system like that.

as they say you keep going and there is nothing
the difficult thing is killing yourself to get back take some good mines if you try it or its a long way back

Post Wed Oct 01, 2003 10:49 pm

You could just save before leaving...

@steel if you fire a missile off and then hit your afterburner you successfully hit it in the arse...you'll need a few missiles to drop your shields but after that its a piece of p*ss....quite funny to watch someone do too

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 11:40 am

@grommit havent tried ramming my own missiles il have to give that a try lol
as for shields just jettison somethin just before you do it ie a bot flare and your shields drop for about 4 secs that should do the trick

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 12:00 pm

i never noticed that! thanks, thats a good tip

Yeh flying into ur own torpedoes has the same kinda effect...just... larger and more painful

Sometimes the glass is half full, other times its half empty. Usually its just twice as big as it really needs to be

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 1:59 pm

Just jettison a flare and drop some homing mines. Fastest way, i think

The systems are seperate maps. You will never get from one to the other by conventional flight.

"Although I do not consider myself a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, I find that their goals and mine often follow the same path. I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. Hell, they were even so kind as to sell me a ship after one of my jobs with them, and I've been flying her ever since. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.
